Hey All,

I am participating in the Bridge to Reef tour in Sept and I am curious about what to bring. I've looked over the packing list and its fairly basic, but I wanted to know if anyone else had suggestions of what to bring more of or less of.
I ask because I took the Egyptian tour and it said to bring dress clothes, heels etc, but we didn't go out and they just took up space in my luggage ... I want to avoid that for Australia.

Thanks!
Ash

You'll dress up a bit more in Australia than the Egypt tour. You'll have plenty of options to do laundry and almost always will be in a bathing suit, so you can bring a lot less clothes.

Get a good Australia guide book (like lonely planet) sometimes the options they list there are better than contiki offers (and oftentimes free). That's about the only thing I wish I brought with me. And bug spray, you'll need it for Fraser Island, and the one they have in the gift shop isn't very effective.

Hi Ashley,

Its still pretty cool in September espically in Sydney so bring a Jacket or something warm for night times, it should be a bit warmer in Cairns though..and yes don't forget the insect repellent, you probably won't need it for Sydney but the mozzies can get pretty bad up north..get the stuff with deet, its alot better.

I did this tour last year and you won't NEED heels but it was good to have the option. Particularly in Surfers Paradise because you go out to some nicer pubs/clubs.
But besides that I don't think I wore heels for the rest of the trip

bring one set of warm clothes eg jeans and a jacket. and the rest should be summer stuff like tshirts and shorts. bring thongs and also a pair of shoes. if u go clubbing thongs are not usually allowed to be worn so either bring like casual shoes (if ur a guy) or like a pair of sandals if u are a girl, these are more comfy and u can wear them more often than heels. make sur eu bring a dressy top (girl) or nice shirt (guy) to wear out to clubs or dinner.

definatly bring jeans... jeans are a common item to wear out clubbing etc in oz and can be dressed up or down, bring a warm cardigan and maybe some longer sleeved tops but make sure u bring swimmers, flip flops (thongs) and insect repellent! most days a pair of shorts and a singlet would do and ozzies arent really that conservative so shorts and inlets will do to get into places
