Question for anyone who has been to Australia ... what type of souvenirs did you bring back? I know the usual shot glass, t-shirt or postcard ... but something that was just awesome that you found.

Example: I was in Egypt last Feb and found a stuffed camel that played Egyptian music, totally stupid, but brilliant at the same time.

You canget the usual trashy tourist souviners and then you can get some great ideas. Depends really on what you like. In the capital cities there are LOADS of aussie souviner stores.

If you are going to the Gold Coast, Id suggest you go to the Aussie Outback Spectacular, coz you get to see a great show (havent seen it yet but its meant to be good), 3 course dinner, and you get to take home a RM Williams hat..now thats a great souviner to take back home. And you get to learn about the outback history.

Some aboringal art work is always good to take home...great stuff to get

i live in australia and don't really kno what u would want i guess, but there are tons of boomerangs and didgeredoos avalaibe and definatly toy australian animals.

You can get these at most souvenir shops...Kangaroo Balls bottle opener! They're really funny and cost about $40AUD but so worth it!

being an aussie my self i look at the suvernier shops and think what awful awful crap all that stuff is. The best stuff for suverniers would be any thing aboriginal that i my self have like aboriginal art or a digeriedoo. Jewllery is nice that have opals in them. Great suvernies can be found in Alice springs or ullaru/Airs rock town ship
