So after much research on which tour i'd like to be my first, I have decided that this is the one for me. So who else is going on this tour? I'm going to put my deposit down as soon as I get paid Big Grin.

I've just put my deposit down. I can't wait!

I thought I best get in before it gets booked up as my plan B which was the Discovery tour is fully booked for this date.

yeah i'm going solo. I tried convincing friends but they are far too boring so i thought to hell with it! I'll go on my own.

Are you planning on going solo? I wonder if there is a group on facebook that we could join to get to meet others going on this tour.

I think either way you'll have an awesome time Smiler.

What country are you from? I'm from the UK so lucky for me, I don't have to worry about sorting flights to london Big Grin

Lucky, no need to worry about flights....how long would it take you?

I'm from the US. Never been to London, so want to see how much I see that first day 12/26. Otherwise, might look into staying an extra day at the end.

It takes me about one and a half hours to get to London on the train.

Just to warn you it may be mad crazy on the 26th as shops here normally have sales on. So London will be very busy. Then again it's always busy so will probably look the same. I'm heading down to London for the saturday and stopping over in the Royal National hotel. If I get there early and the double devker tour is on I may do it as I've never done a tour of London before.

Are there any particular sites you want to see or just whatever you can fit in when you get to London?

Sales....oooh!!! Cool I love shopping....

Well I definitely want to check out Stonehenge, but I'm guessing that might be something to do after we return from tour. Other than that, the typical London touristy stuff. Would love to see Changing of the Guard. The bus tour sounds like a good idea. Is it hop on hop off?

HAve you done a Contiki before? Are all the tour stops new to you? I've been to Paris and Venice.

I'm not sure how many public attractions will be open as boxing day is a public holiday here. So I would definitely book an extra day when you get back to see the sites. The double decker tour is a hop on hop off tour.

This is my first tour so it will be all new to me. If I like it though i'm thinking of doing the greek island hopping one around this time next year.

Thanks for the info, I didn't even think of that! I'm going to do some research and see if it affects anything. I've been reading some posts saying that public transport doesn't run on Boxing day? Do you know? I was thinking I'd get the tube to the city from the airport....

I'm afraid I don't know about public transport. I have been trying to find out as well as I need to get the train from where I live to London. I have been told that in past years there have been services but very reduced. The train timetables for the christmas/new year period comes out in October I think so if you check www.nationalrail.co.uk around that time you should be able to see what services will be running....hope that helps Smiler
