Hello Katelyn. Just wanted to say hi. I am glad to see there is someone else on this tour on the board. I was getting kinda worried; although I posted my initial greeting back in June!

So I am from the US (Miami) traveling solo for the first time in Europe. How about you?

Hey! Im so glad there's someone else going on this tour! i was getting worried. Actually, my boyfriend, Brandon, and my cousin, Emily, are also doing this tour with me. I'm from RI, Brandon's from CT, and Emily is from NJ. Brandon & I did a British Isles cruise last June, which was our first time ever out of the country. Now we're addicted to traveling! I believe this is Emily's first time in Europe. What day are you flying out there? We're leaving Nov 10th at night, arriving in London the 11th so we have extra time in London.

Oh that sounds so nice…the British Isles. So did you do it with Contiki as well? I love traveling and I have done my okay share but it has been concentrated in Latin America and the Caribbean.

I am so excited for this short but hopefully unforgettable trip. I arrive on Friday, the 13th (that sounds like a perfect day to do one of those Jack the Rippers tours!). I wish I could take off 2 whole weeks off work, but I will try to do my best with the time permitted.

I am a little apprehensive about the weather thou. I don’t do well in the cold! But hopefully it will not be too bad.

hey! actually we did the british isles cruise with princes cruiselines. it was fun, but definitely not enough time in each city. in fact, most nights, we had to be back on the ship around 4-6pm which is way too early! another thing that annoyed us was the excessive amount of elderly on the ship! 85% of the other passengers had to be over 60! so this contiki tour will hopefully be more fun with the younger people!
I'm also worried about the cold. i hate cold weather, even though im used to having freezing winters! im not sure if i should bring a winter jacket or an autumn like jacket? hopefully we will be lucky and have good weather!

Well, in my case, I am bringing a winter jacket. I am a wimp to anything below 65! I hope it does not rain either…Is all about positive wishful thinking.

What about shoes? Are you thinking boots or more casual, like tennis shoes?

I wish I could fast-forward to November! Almost 2 months!

im also not too sure about shoes. i was thinking a pair of really good sneakers (rocker dog athletic shoes are the most comfy and durable!) and perhaps a pair of boots (a pair that is rain resistant and comfy enough to walk all day in). all these decisions of what to bring is making my trip anxiety start to begin!
