Hi Hannah,

I'm planning on leaving Melbourne on the 7th of September, spend a few days in London, sightseeing and visiting family (and shake off jetlag!!). Then its off on the tour..

After the tour I'm staying for about 2 weeks, planing on seeing a bit more of England and maybe fly to Italy or Denmark.

Hey Louise,
That sounds awesome. I'm going over on the 11th of august with the rest of my family. My dad is playing in a hockey tournament over there. Hopefully we will be renting a car and driving around the UK. Then I will hopefully be going to Germany at the start of september to visit a friend there. I have about 4 days after the tour before I fly back home which Im not sure about yet. Well thats my plan anyway.

Hey Hannah,

That sounds great!! I must say it pretty good to be going over with your parents...I know that I'm a little apprehensive about flying on my own, but I'm sure I'll be fine.. It's nice having someone with you or someone waiting for you at Heathrow!!!
It would be awesome to travel around the UK, I might be doing a little bit of travelling around, but probably not too much..

I actually booked my flights yesterday which was quite exciting. Im still waiting to hear back from my travel agent regarding the tour, hopefully there is still room, I checked yesterday on the website and it said "call for availability" so it kinda gave me the push I needed to go and book it!!!

Hey Louise,
Yeh the good thing about having them there for the first few weeks is that I wont have to pay for accommodation. I dont think I would be able to afford to go otherwise. Ive been over to germany once before and that was on an exchange program so I have travelled before, just not totally by myself. Where are you planning on staying in London before ad after the tour?I havent got a clue where Im staying yet.So are you at university this year or do you work full time?Im working full time at the moment, saving up for this holiday.

Hey Hannah,

I'll probably be staying with my cousin who lives in London for the majority of the time, maybe with some other family members for a few days, I still have to book a room on the night before the tour, last thing I want to do is to get lost in London!!!

I am working full time at the moment, saving as much as I can so that I can have an awesome time o/s..especially since this trip has been in the works for about 5 years!!!

Hey Aussie Nick!

From what I've heard there is heaps to do in London, visiting Big Ben, London Bridge, the Eye, the Palaces etc.. not to mention shopping and nightlife. I'm spending at least a week there myself, maybe a bit more depending on how the finances go..

I'm sure you will find heaps to do London!! Especially coz you haven't been o/s before!!! This is my first time to Europe, but I have visited Japan and Hong Kong before...

Hey guys
Yeh there is definatly heaps to do in London. Its also really cheap to travel around as well. Im going to Germany before the tour because its only 30 pound from London. I would stay in London as long as you can afford to. There is so much to do there.

Ive been planning this holiday for years as well. Ive always wanted to go to London, Italy and Greece, so I cant wait. I went to Germany on exchange a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I went to the Oktoberfest while I was there and that was one of the main reasons I picked this tour.

Louise, how did you go booking the tour? Is there still room?

Hey Hannah,

Yes I did manage to book the tour, now its just a matter of paying it off...

But i've got everything all planned out, which will make it all less stressful!!

I hope we get some more people chatting on this board!! Maybe closer towards the date

Hi There Everyone

I am new at this.....I only learned of this message board thing.

Anyway - myself and my housemate (lets call him skeeta) are off on this contiky tour also.

We live in Central Qld (West of Rockhampton)

We are pretty much only heading over to the UK for the tour, have a couple of days in London prior and only the one night post tour. We are flying home via penang and staying there for 4 nights....(flying Malaysian airlines)

This is a fantastic way to meet people before heading over there...feel free to say hullo.

toodles
Leisa
