Hey travellers

Finally it's booked in and I can't wait.  I've been planning this trip for ages with my sister.  This is our first Contiki trip and we're interested in hearing from anyone planning on doing the same tour. We are hoping to meet up with this tour in Paris though to get some extra time there before it starts.

I'm booked on the Contrasts tour on the 3rd April, same as you. I'm 20, from Perth, Australia and am going by myself. I'm arriving in London on 24th March to do some sightseeing first and I'm heading home 2 days after the tour finishes. Way too short but I'm gonna love every minute of it. I'll see you and your sis on tour! Whereabouts in Australia are you from?

Im heading on this tour too, can't wait!  should be lots of fun!  I too have been planning this trip for ages.  Kinda scary travelling on my own but thats what Contiki is all about right? 

I changed my tour date to April 17 and then it got cancelled.  I guess there weren't enough people for the trip.  So now I'm doing a round the world trip and doing Contiki's Wild Western Tour in America before doing Contiki's European Highlights on May 3.  Going to New York and Phuket, Thailand as well so I'm quite happy with my new holiday.

I am a solo traveller aswell, bit nerve racking but I think there will so many of us, and wants we all have a few drinks together it wont matter.

I fly into London on the 2nd and I think I get in at about 6.00am

Is anyone planning on taking a look around London on that day?

Hey everyone,
I am from Toronto Ontario and I am going on the European Contrast, I leave Toronto on April the 1st and I don't get into London until the 2nd of April because of the time difference, I get in pretty early in the morning and I was told to go to the Royal National Hotel and just check in there and get settled.  I was planning on checking out London when I got in and seeing the sights, and stuff.  I am going all alone I am a little nervous and bit scared but I think it is going to rock and we are all going to have a great time.  I hope to chat with you guys before the trip leaves.

Did you get a room by yourself at the hotel? We may even be in the same room.

yeah I was told that if you want to do Europe alone then Contiki is the way to go because it is really easy to meet people and a lot of people go solo. 
I did not get a room by myself only because they wanted like I think it was $100 to stay by myself, and I also thought that if I stay alone then it will be harder to meet people.  So where are you travelling from?  I am really excited this was a total last minute thing I have always wanted to go to Europe and I just quite my job and I am taking some time of school right now so it worked out perfectly I can't wait.

Yeah I was told the same.  I think they charged me $100 and I am in a room with two other people! Maybe I got ripped off :-)

Mine was the same as you, very last minute, I only booked about 2 weeks ago. But am really looking forward to it. I am taking 6 weeks of work in total, so it should be fantastic.

Are you spending any extra time over there after the trip.  I think I have about 5 days, and an extra week if I need it.

I am coming from Australia.

After the trip I am spending an extra 3 days in London and then I am not to sure.  I have more time of from work so I would like to do some more travelling, but I didn't really want to do it myself, I was planning on maybe meeting some cool people and seeing what there plan was for after the trip.  I mean I am already in Europe why go home so soon especially since there is so much to do and so much to see.  I am really so excited I can't wait.  So how old are you?  Not sure if you have msn messenger but if you do then feel free to add me my email is traciekay18@hotmail.com and anyone else who is going on this trip you can also add me and we can all get to know each other before the trip.

I don't get in until 8am on April 2nd and am going to drop my stuff off at the hotel, email home that I got there ok, then go see the london sights.  I have a map of the area of the hotel showing how to get there from the tube stop if anyone wants it.

From what I've read (and we should know more when we get our info packet anytime now) we have a 6pm or something orientation on the 2nd that lasts 30ish min, but is ok to miss.  I'm going to try and make it, then head back out.  I really want to see the london tower, everything else is icing on the cake.
