Ive heard the weather's not too bad at that time and it's probably best to take clothes you can layer in case it gets cold. Also been advised to take one relatively heavy jacket/coat.

I keep reading to buy a pair of wedges to wear out because of all the coblestone.

I reckon I'll probably mostly be wearing jeans and tops and will take a couple of dressy clothes too.

Another thing I read was to lay out everything you want to take...and then halve it. I am a notorious over packer so I'll probably eighth mine!!

This topic has made me realise that this is a very female dominated group so far...not that it's a bad thing but I hope there'll be some guys joining us.

Time is going so quickly, I can't believe it's now only 5 months away!!

Hey everyone, There are two more people (Brad and Carrin) joining the tour. We're from Jhb, South Africa. We tried to join the group on facebook. Theres a website which gives a pretty good indication of the weather in europe at that time of the year, if you want to check it out its http://www.wordtravels.com/#europe. See you all in September!!!

Hey Kim I've added you to the facebook group!

I am so paranoid about backpacks. I'm hoping I will be able to fit everything I need for the day in a handbag...

Can we have a handbag and a backpack or is that pushing it?

I don't see why that would be a problem. Unless you've got one of those handbags that are the size of backpacks..

Sounds like everyone's going to be in Europe for the first time. It's going to be awesome - only 5 months to go now.

Morgan and I have both bought a backpack each that have day packs zipped on them. They are on wheels so you can either carry them or pull. However I am a little worried about packing it, it might be a pain in the arse to get things in and out and organise!! But only time will tell!

I also have bought a backpack with a smaller daypack. My backpack is a front loading backpack, so it packs more like a suitcase. I think it has all the advantages of a backpack with the convienence of a suitcase. Smiler
