Hi guys,

I'm deciding between either going on the December 19 trip or the Dec 26 trip for this, but wonder how many of you guys out there are like me and wondering how many folks are closer in age with you that might be going on these trips. It's always nice to have like-minded folks close in age to travel together with. I've asked Contiki, but it seems like they have no idea. So thought I'd start a poll here. Give me a shout and let us know if you're going/planning to go, and your age, gender and where you're from? I'll start. I'm 32, female and from San Francisco. Hopefully, this can help give us all some guidelines before we book our trips! Can't wait to hear back from you guys! -Selena

I'm doing the Dec 26 trip - I'm 32, female, from Chicago. This will be my 3rd Contiki trip (and probably my last before I get too old!)

My name is Julie, I am going on the Dec 19th trip. I am 24 from the states, but I am living in the middle east right now. I am female, and going by myself. Some of us are staying a couple extra nights in Budapest to be there for New Years Eve too, I am! Should be a blast.

I'm doing the Berlin to Budapest - 27th (26th for USA ppl i think) to 6th Jan. I'm joining on the 28th in Berlin cos i'm doing a Top Deck tour of the Baltics before this one.

This will be my 2nd Contiki tour (last one was Russia/Scandinavia in '04).

Thanks guys! I don't think many people come to these forums? Since I signed on 3 days ago, I've been coming back daily, hoping to read more posts and also gain more insight in the process, but response seems to be a little lukewarm? Hmmm...

That said, I think I might be leaning towards the Dec 26th date. New Year's in Prague sounds too awesome! Poking around the site now... I've always been an independent traveller, never done a Contiki tour before, so not too sure what to expect. But from what i gathered so far, sounds like folks like it though.

I'm Naomi, 25, from the UK and I'm going on 27th December. This will be my fourth Contiki and I've loved them all...from experience there's quite a bit of free time if you want to go off and do your own thing but also plenty of group activities/optional extras. I'm sure whatever you decide you'll have a fab time - just pack some warm clothes!

I'm Sam, 3/M from SF also going the 26th. I was told by a Belarusian "there's no country like Czechoslavakia!", can't wait to verify her praises. Anyone else staying over in Budapest after the tour?

Hi Sam - I'm staying in Budapest through Friday after our tour ends. Everyone I know who's been says it's worth spending several days!

Hey Minnie girl and Alevons, I'm REALLY bummed. I tried booking for this trip yesterday and they said it's FULL!!! I tried the shorter versions too and apparently, everything's full. I'm close to tears! The only one that's on a similar itinerary that's still available is the Vienna and Budapest, Departure Dec 25th trip. I think I may have to book that one - no more choice. Do you guys think I will cross path with the Dec 19th group for half this trip? I don't think I will be with the Dec 26th group anymore? Sucks bigtime...
I'm now planning to spend more time in Berlin and hop over to Cologne to visit some friends before taking the train to Vienna to begin my trip... Bummer...was really hopping to be on the Dec 26th. Any way this could happen, you think?

Oh, but if anyone is flying back to wherever from Berlin after the trip and will be at that city from Jan 5-8, let me know. I will be hanging out there for those days before my flight back to SF.

wow, yeah, it is filled up. I booked <3 weeks ago and paid up at the 45 day mark. FWIR the agent said capacity is ~25-30 ppl. That's too bad Selena, and I really don't know if the other tours intersect. Call 'em to verify. And make your way to Budapest by 01/06/09 to hang out with our group! GL.

Hey Alevons and Minniegirl, wow, I'm now back on track, somewhat, believe it or not. The Dec 25th Vienna and Budapest trip has only 1 spot left, and since my girlfriend made a last minute decision to join me for this trip,we need two spots. However, we're now confirmed on the Jan 1 Vienna/Budapest group, which means I will be joing the Dec 26th group, but joining late in Vienna.

This works out perfect for me as now i will have more time in Cologne to hang out with friends that I'm visiting!

We will be in Prague for the New Year though, and would love to hang out with our group earlier... I heard New Year's in Prague in awesome, and the more folks the merrier. Wondering where you guys will be...?
