Ooh Belinda I'm very jealous of your Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, etc tour! It looks like we won't have time Frowner
I want to see the itinerary so I can find out what other places we can see in each city- ie. free time!
Is it bad that I have already started thinking about my packing list? Haha I'm so excited!

We actually only just added on an extra night in London prior to the tour so we could fit in the Windsor castle etc tour, was one thing I really wanted to do!

Thinking about it? I started writing my packing list last week lol! I'm so overly excited! I can't wait.

Hi everyone,

Had a busy few months so I've been offline for a while! I'll be heading off on Sept 28th to start my tour of the UK on the 1st (I think...). Pretty exciting Smiler

I will be travelling solo so I'm hoping there won't be too many couples! It is going to be great fun, I can't wait. At the end of our tour, I'll be hanging around for another week or so before flying home. I've got nothing booked so I'll just be taking it as it comes.

What is everyone elses travel plans?

Hey Tim,

I'm sure there'll be plenty of other people travelling solo don't worry!

We're heading over on the 21st of September, travelling around then getting into London on the 8th ready for the tour on the 10th! Unfortunately for us we have to head home the night after the tour so we're just staying in London the night we get back then heading off the next day.

Can't wait! Only 4 more weeks of work left for me!

Hey Everyone,

My fiance (husband by the time we hit the tour) and I only just recently booked this for our first European trip.... VERY excited.

We're heading over to London on the 5th for a few days prior to the tour, then finishing in Paris for an extra 4 days, then 4 more days in Bangkok on the way home...

Belinda - was looking at what sounds like a similar tour to Stonehenge etc.... who did you organise this thru??

Can't believe people have already started packing lists etc. Starting to get a complex about being very unorganised now!!!..... Smiler

Hey all

We have received our contiki documentation so if you would like to know any info on the hotels we are staying at, prices of optionals, pretour meeting time & place etc. just let me know.

I'm not sure if anyone else has received it yet.

I've had my packing list on the go for a couple of weeks now, hopefully we won't forget anything but if we do, I'm sure we will be able to purchase most things over there.

Hi Tammy and Katie, good to hear there's more of us going!

Katie, don't worry I'm a bit overorganised with everything so it's suprising I didn't write my packing list earlier, we booked the trip over 6 months ago! And if he'll be your hubby by the time you go then I'm assuming you're getting married in a few weeks so it sounds like you have a lot more to worry about than a packing list!

We booked online through Evan Evans Tours for the stonehenge etc trip. They pick up from the Royal National so it sounded good to us! We just paid on our mastercard and all we need to take is our online confirmation which I have on my email so it all seemed easy!

Renae, if you wouldn't mind letting me know some of the hotels we'd be staying at that would be great! We need contact details for work purposes of where we're going to be, so it would be great if I knew where we were staying.

Well this post is way long enough, I'll be quiet now.

Thanks so much Renae! They do sound great!
I had a look at some of the hotels. Some look really nice, and others, not so much (especially in Italy)! I'm sure the good company will make up for it! Smiler

Thanks again Renae!

Is everyone thinking they'll do most of the optionals?

I thought white water rafting was only on until September so if it actually goes ahead Daniel's going to be so excited lol. I think I'm too much of a wimp for that one but we'll probably do most of the others I guess.

DEFINITELY doing the Moulin Rouge, just one of those things I've always wanted to do.

Haha Naomi, I looked at the hotels too, the first ones had great reviews...I probably should have stopped there lol. Eh as long as we've got beds and bathrooms I'm sure we'll all have a ball regardless of the hotel so I'm not phased!

Less than four weeks now till Daniel and I fly out! My mums getting married the day before we leave and I'm maid of honour so I'm organising wedding stuff for her, can't imagine how crazy it would be if it was my own wedding, you must have your hands full Katie, good luck!

You are right Mindy the White Water Rafting says "normally available from May to September" I hope you haven't told Daniel yet, as he will be disappointed. I was looking forward to that as well Frowner

Most of the Optionals sound pretty good, I guess we'll decide when we are there.

At least if we hear some bad reviews we aren't going to expect the best. I would prefer awesome people & average accomodation than average people & awesome accomodation as I think that's what will make the tour. Both would be nice though Wink
