This tour will be one of two that will be my first ever European experience. I am travelling solo and I'm really interested in trying to get to know everyone who might be on this tour before we all head over.
My boyfriend and I will be on this tour! This will be my first Europe experience too, in fact my first trip overseas. (He's been overseas a few times before so I think I'm the only one whose nervous haha).
We're flying from Melbourne to Turkey on the 21st of September and doing a couple of weeks travel before we start the tour. What are your plans?

That's pretty much the same as what we are doing!We're doing a few days in Istanbul and a Gallipoli day tour, then heading to Athens and Santorini for a week and then on to England for a week. When do you leave Aus? How long are you there for in total. We're there for just under 6 weeks all up, I think it will fly by!
Lucky you! We don't get much time at all, about 4 weeks. Leaving Sydney on 3 Oct. 2 nights in Athens, 2 nights in Santorini, 2 nights in London- then off on the tour! It's going to be a crazy rush! I wish the time would fly between now and October!
Basically the same places as us! I wish time would fly too, it feels like forever altho im excited that we are well under the 6 month mark now, you guys will be too in a few more days! The 3rd of October is my birthday, first time i will ever have been away from home so I will be celebrating god knows where, somewhere in England!
My hubby & I are all booked for this tour as the one leaving 5th Oct was cancelled. We are off to Scotland & Ireland prior to this. We are from Western Australia. It's our first time to Europe & so excited!!!!
Good to see there actually are some other people going on this tour! When are you heading over? We leave Sept 22nd so less than two months now, super excited! We're from Melbourne
Awesome Renae, not long for you either then! I can't wait, we're just finalising the last of our day tours and things for before the tour so it really feels like it's all about to happen now!
Wow, I was worried we were going to be the only couple on this tour! Has anyone recieved any information about the tour yet? For example an intinerary or the hotels we will be staying in (or is that a surprise?). Thanks :-)
It's great knowing there will be other couples, as I thought contiki was going to be mainly singles, not that that matters. Our travel agent advised that we will receive all our information 3 weeks prior to our flight departure, so hopefully 3 weeks time for us .
Are you guys going to the pre tour meeting the night before departure?
Renae, My travel agent is my step brother, and isn't making any money from us, so I don't want to bother him too much! We are staying at the Royal National Hotel in London (which I beleive is the departure point?), is that where the pre-tour meeting is?
I was thinking the same thing, so it's kinda nice to know there'll be some other couples!
We're not going to make the predeparture meeting I don't think. We're statying at the Royal National on the 8th and 9th before the tour, and on the 9th we're doing a full day tour of Windsor Castle, Oxford and Stonehenge which I think gets back to London about 7ish. Predeparture meeting is at 6:30 I heard so it looks like we'll miss it.
We won't get the itinerary and info till about a week or so before we leave because DP's away with work so he's going to get it all when he gets back!
