I called Contiki, and apparently the July 13 trip IS the July 11 trip!

I'm coming from the U.S., so the 11th is a travel day. I get there on the 12th, meet some guests and have a dinner, but the trip officially begins on the 13th. They have different dates for different regions.

I called contiki also and the July 13th Trip is the preferred departure date and it is definitely still going ahead on that date. How exciting! I can't wait. I put my deposit down a few weeks ago also.

It is my first contiki trip and I'm doing it solo so yay!

Where are you from? I'm from south Florida- also going solo- I've been to a few of the places already, but never on my own.

I have my passport all finalised also. Saving is killing me though. I'm doing relatively well but for a woman it's very hard to save when there is such fabulous shopping lately! ha ha

So guys what's your plan? Are you staying at the hotel that we meet at the night before the contiki starts? Have you opted to share a room or single? How much are we allowed to take in our back packs? Sorry for the 20 questions...

I've opted to share a room as it's cheaper and I guess i'd get lonely on my own. How about you?

I'm not sure about bag allowance but i guess it would be the same amount that you're allowed to take on your flight to the UK? x

Answers for you:

I will be staying at the Contiki hotel on July 12th (I'm actually leaving from Florida on the 11th, landing at Heathrow in early afternoon on the 12th, I think).

I will be staying in a single room. I've had my share of roommates over the years, and found that at 30 years old I'm a little bit over it, and now it's time for a little privacy while I sleep.

As for the baggage allowance: Contiki seems to say that we're allowed suitcases of a certain dimension (forget specifics) weighing about 44 lbs (I believe). We can also take a backpack.

I'm going to bring a regular Jansport bookbag for my backpack, and pack as lightly as I can on the trip (I'll be washing a lot of underwear in the sink, I think). As for the backpack, I will probably carry a book, poncho, sweatshirt, and some other necessities.

But I'm not taking a hiking backpack or anything like that. I don't even know if that's allowed.
