How's it going, I'm one of your tourmates. I'm born and raised in Southern California. Another discussion to meet others for this trip is titled Euro Inspiration PICK 9-20-08 - the brochure for America/Canada list the start dates when we leave home, not when the trip starts in London. The trip is only a few months off .... meaning Oktoberfest is only a few months off! I had a blast at that party last year.

Where abouts in california are you from? We are in America for a month before we start contiki, so do you have any hot tips of what to do and what not to do in california?
Hey Amy! In Southern California there is a lot to see if you have the time and money. There are the traditional places to visit like Disneyland, Hollywood, Universal Studios, night clubs in Los Angeles..etc. I'm from Orange County ... just south of Los Angeles..so I tend to stick towards Newport Beach and Huntington Beach for going out at night. There are a ton of bars along the beach to enjoy during the night or day. And south of OC ... San Diego is definitely worth seeing. Its just north of the border so there is a ton of good Mexican food restaurants ... and again.. the night life in San Diego is very good. Especially in Pacific Beach and Downtown San Diego. You'll find Los Angeles will cost a bit more than OC and San Diego.

Nope ... this is my first trip on my own. But from people I've know that have gone on Contiki trips before whether they've gone alone or with others ... they've told me that everyone gets to know each other real quick. So I'm not too concerned about going solo. I guess I'll have to figure out a facebook page soon b/c most people I've talked to on here are more into that than myspace.

Amy, I'm assuming you're referring to my pictures from Oktoberfest from last year. Wow!! Now that was some party. I spent 4 days at the festival in Munich and there a few things here and there I don't recall. That is why friends with cameras are great. I added you to myspace also. I like the costume parties. So is this gonna be your first trip to Europe?
