Well I have all my travel documents and have registered with Smart Traveller so I'm all ready and rarin to go! WOO!!!

I posted this on the Facebook Group (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=87420782409&ref=mf) but thought I'd post it here too. Here's the list of our hotels:

http://www.users.on.net/~kn079/Contiki_Hotel_List.pdf

And here's a link to each of them in order of our itinerary...

The only one that sounds a bit dodgy is the one in Florence. Still, I don't know about anyone else but hotels are just a place to sleep (and maybe an occasional room party).

Amsterdam: http://www.bluesquarehotel.nl/

Berlin: http://www.agon-aldea.de/ (I stayed here on my last Contiki Tour in 2007. It's better than average and close to public transport!)

Prague: http://www.hotelibis.cz/hotely/ibis/10-2-1-homepage (compared to my Contiki Tour in 2007, this looks AWESOME. Especially the location. We were out of town a fair way in 2007 and I missed the bus on the morning of the walking tour! lol)

Munich: http://www.laterooms.com/en/ho...ity-ost-munchen.aspx

Venice: http://www.alfabookings.com/hotels/hotel_airmotel.htm

Rome: http://www.venere.com/hotels/r...e-hotel-roma-cassia/

Florence: http://www.traveleurope.it/aut...-hotel/florence.htm#

Engelburg (Swiss Alps) Switzerland: http://www.hotelclub.net/hotel...Hotel_Engelberg.htm#

Paris: http://www.hotelclub.net/hotel..._Ivry_sur_Seine.htm#

Public transport is usually fairly good. We were a fair way out in Budapest and Prague but taxis can be shared, busses and trains are ok (during the day). I'm all for taxis though. But agree to a price BEFORE you get in. The tour guide will usually know about how much we should pay for a taxi back to the hotel at night.

Don't worry about being a bit out of town though... Should be an AWESOME tour.

Venice could be interesting given we're not on the island / main tourist part. Will wait and see. Shouldn't be too bad though.
