hey,i have done the wild western twice because i had such a great time but i have to tell you,it wont be the same as the first one. you dont feel like doing the excursion/optionals again because you done that and you always remember your friends on the first tour and what a great time you had and suddenly, you meet a whole bunch of other people doing the same tour and it just wont feel the same as the first one. If your doing a tour that goes to similar places you have been before from previous tours, that shouldnt be an issue.
The first time was alone and it was awesome. I had never been to Europe and it was a great way to get a taste of many of Europe's most famous cities. I wound up with a great group of tourmates along with an excellent TM and driver. The group was really tight and almost everyone was out having a great time together every night. I made some really great friends on that tour that I still keep in touch with 6 years later and have even visited with a couple of them since the tour!
The second time I went with a friend. He had not been to many of the cities on the tour and I wanted to go back and visit those cities again. It was great to go back to cities like Amsterdam, Rome, and Lucerne. However, as was mentioned above, it just was not the same as the first tour. Our group had 12 couples(very rare) and a lot of whiny, boring people. Our TM was angry half the tour. The group never clicked and there was not even one night where everyone went out and had an awesome time together. My friend and I made the best of it and managed to have ourselves a good time but I was still extremely disappointed. I had high hopes because of the first time and it just never lived up to my expectations.
It's an idea I am looking into after I have done Vietnam Highlights with the Vietnam Experience that takes in the Mekong Delta. The best part is I learnt about it back in High School Fifteen Years Ago and finally going to see the places for real.My Teacher would be proud taking what I learnt in her classroom and applying them to real life.
