Hi,

I was going to send me girlfriend on a contiki tour as present, I have been to Europe (not a contiki tour) and I want her to see Europe and I have been told this is the easiest way of doing it.

But here is my problem - I have heard that contiki tours are designed primarily for singles. The tour guides set up teams and each team has to score points by kissing as many people as possible. Is this what happens? I know I sound lke a crazy over protective boyfriend and I am but I really just want to know what sort of games are played on these tours. Should buy a ticket for myself?

Any feedback would be great.

i have never been on a contiki before my first one will be in 3 weeks. ive never heard of such a thing unless it was the group that made it up themselves. i highly doubt that the staff would be initiating this sort of stuff (but i guess u never know) i think you will be fine. if u trust your girlfriend then you shouldnt have any problems right?

That's ridiculous! Read a couple of travelogues. Most games will probably be harmless trivia, "what's your most embarrassing moment" games. I've heard that tons of couples go on these tours. I just talked to a person on this board who's going with her husband. Basically it comes down to trust. Do you trust her? If you do, then you do not have ANYTHING to worry about. If she has good judgment, then everything will be fine.

I agree with Cah, I think it all comes down to trust. If you truly trust her, then there will not be any problems. I have only been on one contiki, a USA one, and nothing like that happened at all.

ive never heard of any games like that goin on! i don't think activities like that would be encouraged by contiki. there are late night parties that may lead to kissing, but primarily for the single folk. and even if there was a game like that (which i highly doubt) there is no way you can force someone to participate if they have a boyfriend/girlfriend back home. im positive there will be someone else on the tour with a partner back home.

I think you will be fine. We had a lot of couples on my tour. As mentioned its all about trust. It depends on what tour you pick. If you pick a superior tour or a get away you won't have as much of that becuase most of the people on there are a bit older. As long as you talk about things and don't let other people get to you you will do just fine.

I agree in that it should be based on trust! If anything, your girlfriend will be wishing you were there with her experiencing every moment! I think its really sweet that you are going to give her this trip as a gift, so kudos on that. Like CubanQueen mentioned, nobody can be forced to do anything you don't want to do. I also highly doubt these types of games being "enforced". From my experience reading the forums and chatting with some of its members on facebook, you have nothing to worry about.

How come I wasn’t on that tour?Dammit!Ah well look in all seriousnous contiki is not just for singles.I have been on plent of tours where they have been couples.Yes there is games played but if your g/f doesn’t want to go along with them she doesn’t have too.As long as you trust her you have nothing to worry about!
