At the end of last year, my boyfriend and I booked two contiki tours - the Asian Adventure and European Explorer.

We just found out the European Explorer got cancelled.

It's amazing how fast you have to pay for the tours, airfares etc...But when it comes time to get a refund, it's the longest headache ever.

I applied for 2 months off work for August and September of this year, have been living like a poor person saving my butt off...

It's such a disappointment..and not to mention the Asian tour might be cancelled as well...

Just my luck ey?

Does anyone have any advice with dealing with cancellations?

Sadly there is next to nothing that can be done. Instead of getting a refund, why not pick another tour? Choose one with a definite departure date so you know it will happen, and enjoy! My tour was canceled as well but what can you do? No use stressing something you can't control. You already have the time off and have busted your butt to make it happen, so still go!

Sorry to hear that your tour got canceled. Unfortunately that's the risk you have to take when booking tours. It seems like if you have 2 months off you are in a lucky situation that you have a bit of freedom. I would try and see if any other tours fit into your schedule, it might be a day or two off your original plan, but I am sure you can find one with a very similar itinerary.
