I was looking at the tours that they finally posted on the website and it looks like there are a couple of new tours. The one that caught my eye was the Eastern Meditterean Highlight Cruise. It goes to Turkey, Greece, Egypt, and Israel. That trip sounds totally awesome. I wouold do this trip in a heartbeat.
Anybody else notice any new trips or changed iternaries from previous tours?
Eurofan , that's actually not a entirely new tour. It was a very popular tour in the late 90's but after 2001 very few people travelled due to terrorist threat and sales of this tour did not justify its existence.Last season had a reintroduction but sales were kind of on the lower side.
Other observations - Spanish Spree has had a complete change over which would make it a little more appealing to those who are interested in cultural Spain rather than full on party Spain. A bit less time in Ibiza(-1 full day), more in time in the northern part and also easier finishing off to the tour as Madrid is the entry and exit city. This makes it a little more convenient and less costly to book airfares.
Ideally if corporate Contiki could have reintroduced thier Spain, Portugal , Morocco itenarary which actually sold quite well, it will give travellers the option of hitting the entire Iberian peninsular and Morocco in 1 comprehensive trip of around 20 days.
In Asia the prices have dropped quite significantly especially Vietnam highlights making a tour which was quite well priced to being really great overall value. Not too sure where the catch is on that trip though.
Another slight change is the Egyptian itenarary-cost has gone up but this might be due to the change in the initial hotel being used. For many seasons the Oasis resort was used but for 2010 season the Victoria hotel in downtown Cairo.
I really liked the New Year's trips in Amsterdam or Paris. What a great way to bring in the New Year! Too bad they're not for this coming New Year's though. I would have booked it in a second.
