I'm on the pill and i'm just wondering how did you guys keep taking it at the same time in a different time zone? did you switc to europe (america/africa/whatever) time before you left? or try and keep taking it on your 'native' time.
I left my bf home when I went to NZ in 06 and I just took it at the same time I normally would but in NZ time. I knew that the only thing that it was preventing was me getting my period cos I wasn't going to be sleeping with anyone
Hi i am going to asia and i don't plan on sleeping with anyone else either but to stop getting my period and hopefully skip periods while over in asia i want to take it reliable. i think that the packet i start taking before i leave i will swap it over to the time zone of vietnam, so when i get there i am taking it at a reasonable time each day, such as 8am when i am waking up and getting ready for the day
If you're taking it to control your period (me) then I wouldn't stress too much about what time of day. I always just take it in the morning when I get up.
If you're taking your boyfriend and worried about pregnancy then I would be more careful. If it's a short trip then I would stick as close to your schedule at home. If it's a longer trip (3+ weeksish) then you're probably better off switching to the time at your vacation, maybe adjust it over the 2 weeks before you leave.
If you're considering sex with new people you meet on your trip, use condoms to protect against STD's and the pill is just a back up for pregnancy.
