Can anyone recommend a travel insurance company that does cover you for the cost of your flights if your contiki tour get cancelled? I am booked on the vietnam highlights tour in november and I am struggling to find any insurance company that will cover me for that cost!

Hey!! I had the same concerns while I was looking for Travel Insurance and I found Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has a deluxe package and you only have to add a rider for an extra $10 that includes the airfare being protected in case of cancellation or evenb delay of tour. Hope this helps

What country are you in. Im in Australia and most travel insurance polices here cover you against trip cancellations such as tour cancellations, medical issues that arise before your trip, retrenchements, jury duty etc etc.

If your in OZ i can direct you otherwise sorry as i only know the aus policies.

only Contiki's insurance will cover you. I lost over $400 when Contiki canceled my Simply Italy tour. You will get charged the cancelation fees/whatnot even just to switch the flights. The insurance companies reason is that the tour operator is responsible for the fees, they only cover you if YOU cancel the tour.

I was looking at these guys also, but I dunno how trustworthy they are? I'm not a fan of purchasing 'important' things over the net. Then again, they are underwritten by Allianz, which is a pretty massive global insurance company. Their quote was a hell of a lot better than the one STA Travel gave me for their 'cover-more' insurance - they SERIOUSLY wanted to charge me $1100 for a 2.5 month trip to the US.... Eeker

hi!
if you booked your flight with Contiki, then you should take the insurance plan Contiki offers you. You'll be certain to be covered for everything that they booked for you.

If you're booking your flights on your own, and paying your Contiki tour with that card, then your credit card company should be able to offer you a coverage that will cover everything.
