I'm from Australia and I am looking at getting some security locks for both my luggage and security lockers that I may need to use overseas. I would like the locks for my luggage to be both TSA and HRMC approved so that I can fly with them anywhere and not worry about them being cut off. Also I'm looking for a sturdy lock for any storage lockers I may use along the way.
Can anyone recommend a certain lock/locks that they have used in their travels?
Thanks

I got SearchAlert combination lock and Korjo padlock type, both are TSA approved. I think i got them from Strandbags or Victoria Station. Hope that helps
Go with a good brand like samsonite or pacsafe. www.pacsafe.com You can get them at most travel outdoor shops or even at your local walmart type stores.
Depends on where you are travelling to.If its the states u can only use a tsa approved lock.It doesnt mean they won't hack it off tho as I found when I went to the states the first time in 2006.Despite having tsa locks they still smashed it off to check my suitcase. Also be careful with the padlock one's as mine was ripped off when I went back to the states last year.Luckily it was on the pocket. Not the main bit!
Hi all,I trying to work out what a tsa and hrmc locks are,What do think of combination locks, what would be good place to buy locks for the suitcase any help would be good,as this is my 1st trip am not sure thanks Katie
Would it be a good idea to just take locks with you (in suitcase / hand luggage) and then put them on the suitcase when you pick your luggage up at arrivals? That way, the airport staff won't have to hack into your case but you still have secure luggage for wherever you're staying?
I was thinking I would buy some spare locks just incase the airport people do decide to hack off the locks so then I will have some more locks to use in the hotels/hostels and for my later flights

In the past I have used zip ties for flights and locks for hotel/bus travel.
I put a swiss army knife in my checked luggage (NOT CARRY-ON) in one of the outside pockets, with a little effort later I can sneak it out and cut the tie.
Seems to work well for me.
