Hi everyone,

Was wondering if people could offer me advice, im doing the inspiration tour in late nov and we are given lots of free time during our tour as well as planned bits, i was wondering do you recommend planning in advance what you want to do or do the tour guides help you figure out what you could do in that time and 'planning' isn't really necassary?

Hope that makes sense haha..

Thanks Smiler

The tour guide will give you a map with some of the popular tourist destinations marked out and general info about the city, you can also ask questions about what to do etc.

If there are certain things you want to see in a city, then maybe do a little planning and check opening times, advance tickets, how to get there etc beforehand.

Also try to figure out what day of the week you'll have that free day as sometimes it will be a sunday and things can be closed

It's a good idea to spend a little time researching the places you are going to see. It's a good idea to know what are the popular sites in a city, and an idea of what is close and not close to each other. Also, there may be a lesser known attraction that is of interest to you, so even if you're not reading about different sites, either look in a guidebook or a website and review the attractions listed, something might jump out at you which isn't part of the usual "1 day in Paris" itinerary.

After that maybe a mental list of what are your high priority/must sees and then a secondary list of things that interest you.
