Ohhh I did not read that one before, yaa I know it will be fine once your with the group, but I have never flown alone and have really bad sense of direction....will I know where I'm going after I get off the plane, will there be a contiki person there or do you just take a cab to your hotel and wait for everyone?

If you are flying into Heathrow, there is signage everywhere. Catch the tube to Russell Square. The tube has an automated system that is surprisingly extremely polite and will forwarn you and tell you when your stop is...plus LOADS of signage. When you get to Russell Square you go left out the Tube door to the lights. Take a left for Imperial or right for Royal National. I had no problems getting around and I over stressed before going (flying by myself) to the point of having heart palpitations and having to get blood tests. Don't worry. Everything will be fine. If you feel uneasy making a decision pertaining to signage...just ask someone...everyone is really friendly...one family was really nice and carried my luggage for me off the Tube and up the stairs. Oh! Don't do what I did and pack 20 LBS over the limit...gets really heavy after all the souviners start collecting.

Aw thanx for all the advice you have been very helpful,I'm flying into amsterdam,Also,it says in the itinerary that you have some of the days to explore alone...so do you like leave the tour bus and catch cabs to where you wanna go alone??

When I was in Amsterdam, the bus dropped us off just outside the RLD and we had our own time to explore. The TM will designate a time and location for pick-up. If you don't want to go back at that time, the TM will give you directions and ways to get back to the hotel. It is quite surprising on how well they bone you up on information so you won't be lost...they'll even give you a map and highlight all the key places in the city so you will know ahead of time as to what you want to see. You won't be left hung out to dry. That and there is bound to be some people with you so you will have someone to split the cost of cab fare to share.

Out of 10 I'd give it a 100. If I had the money, I would do the trip over and over again till I was too old to do Contiki anymore. I plan to go as often as my pay cheques will allow me.

Hi travellers, my names kara, i went on a contiki tour a few months ago on my own and i definitely agree with Erin. There was lots of other people on tour (quite a few went there on their own too) so your always with someone! it is on of the best experience's ever and a great way to make friends with all sorts of people!
So don't worry and just enjoy it all! Do everything you want to, because if you miss out on something you will sure as hell be annoyed when you get home!
..by the way you can get a credit card from your bank which is a great help as they charge less than normal bank cards. also a thing which was good for me was those travelex cards because of the atms everywhere it was so much easier than finding a place for travelchecks!
