anyone going to be in spain in last week of August?

I'm thinking of going to La Tomatina in Valencia, one of my co-workers who went to school in Spain said it's a must!

Just don't want to go alone.

Basically, I'm 22 and I would love to go travelling, I can not find anyone to go with me but I can go on my own so that is not a problem I suppose. But, one thing that is stopping me is the fact that I now have a career, quitting is not a problem I can do that but, it's finding another job when I get back with a similar salary. Has anyone else been in this situation?

Thank you for reading this,

Paul

We'll I'm about to become in this situation. I’m sure that my situation maybe a bit different to yours, but in 3 months I’ll be traveling alone, times with fiends and sometimes with new friends I meet on the way.
I have no regrets of quitting my job and I’m not really worried about the need of finding a new one. I hope to work a bit around the globe doing your average backpacker type jobs and maybe something in what my career is.
What it comes down to is you can either stay-in what you doing and travel latter, or you can go explore the world while you’re young, energetic and fit and see that there is more things in the word than making money.
Money is great to have, but don’t let greed of making money control what you do. you're only young once.
Make enough to get by and have fun.

Well i have waited 27 years to do the travelling/living in London. There was always something holding me back, a botfriend, a career etc. I became redundant just before xmas and had 2 choices, settle down and buy a house and set myswelf up for life or take the plunge. You just have to ask yourself - When you're 40, what will you regret not doing more, Travelling or climbing the career ladder.

Hi Susi
I'm doing the Wild Western on the same dates as you're doing the LA to the bay, is the same tour but I will be going back to LA when u'r staying in San Francisco. I'm arriving in LA the 17th of Sep. This is also my first Contiki tour and I'm excited as well. I have travelled alone before but not with Contiki. But i'm looking forward to it! So probably we see each other on the tour! Smiler

My main worry is whether these tours will be suitable for me because 1) i don't like to go out clubbing a lot if clubbing is on the agenda. I mean i go but not all the time.

2) i have a mild disablity which affects me walking long distances.

3) i've never ever ever ever in my whole life done this before

Does anyone know of any travel agents in the UK that i can get advice from as well?

By the way i also plan on going in July. Exactly how hot will it be in Europe in july? I don't cope with too hot weather unfortunately.

Well its going to be hot in july but might be cooler at night around norther europe..

I'm quite shy and would prefer to go with a friend in case I wasn't able to make any on the tour, but since none of my friends can afford a trip to Europe I will be going solo when the time comes.
I'm planning on saving up for 2008 and then quitting my dead end job to fulfill this need to travel I have Big Grin

Hey guys I'm soo glad that I'm the only one that is totally scared out of my wits. This is not my first time leaving the country, BUT it is the first time going alone. I feel so unprepared...Kinda like a lost puppy. I know I'm just being a big baby, but I can't help it! I haven't heard from any one doing the same tour and I would LOVE to talk to a few people before the time comes. Anyone going with me?? Email me: victoria_7_21@hotmail.com

I had originally planned on traveling with my so-called "best" friend, but she bailed out just about a week ago, so now I'm in it alone. Mad I'm a little scared, but I think I'll still have a lot of fun, maybe even more, without her! Big Grin Is anyone going on the European Encounter the 23rd of May??

That's happened to me, but with a cousin. I think the best way to plan any holiday, is alone, because then you dont have to worry about anyone else, or if they cancel. I hope you realise that this person is not a friend.

Well it's good to know that I won't be the only one going solo. I was very concerned about that when I made my reservations for Sept, but after reading some of these posts. I'm very excited about my trip.

Anyone doing the European tour (London/France/Italy) in September 2007?

Hey everyone,
I've never done a Contiki tour before but looking to do my 1st within the next 4-5mths and this was a major question for me. Since graduating college lastyear everyone's schedule is wacky and I cant seem to coordinate with any of my friends now that we all have jobs. Last year I took 5 vacations, 3 were solo so I'm thinking any tours I do will be solo also. I'm looking at a European tour as my 1st but yet to decide Confused
