I think I get to London on the 18th. I had this bright idea to stay there for 5 nights before the tour. Don't ask my why!! I think I have enough friends over there to scab 4 nights worth of accom and then I'll spend the last night at the Grand National hopefully. I'm so excited but it seems like forever away. Are you staying in Europe after the tour?

I'm Gem from Cairns.

Hi Gem and PJ,
I'm also booked on the Euro Adventurer departing London on 23 May and travelling alone. Really looking forward to this trip, seeing all the sights and meeting lots of new people.

Staying at the Royal National Hotel on 22 May and one night at the end of the tour.

Hey Gem & Charys!

Yeah, it does feel like its still so far away, hopefully it will go quickly! I'm going to stay on in london after the tour on a working holiday visa so i'm keeping myself busy getting organised for that. Not sure exactly what i'm going to do, but i'll need to find a place to live and of course somwehere to work!

My plan really though is to not have a set plan, i'm hoping to just go with the flow, see who I meet and how it all goes and just see what happens. So i'm open to suggestion!

Are either of you planning to stay on in london, or anywhere else, after the tour?

Its great to meet some people from our tour, cant wait!

Paul

Working in London? That would be sensational! I'm looking at a working holiday in Italy, lots to get organised though, not looking forward to the rego process Big Grin

I'm with you with the set plans, don't want to lock anything in but I don't really want to do too much sightseeing in London. Thats depressing on your own so I might look at some shows or something.

I don't know what's gonna happen after the tour. I think it will depend on the financial situation. Won't have all that much to go with so we'll see how the money stretches.

You seem as excited as me Paul, its great to talk to someone who TRULY understands the excitement!!

Gem, a working holiday in Italy sounds awesome! I was just doing some reseach last night and i found out that the running of the balls festival in spain starts around 6th July, so i was thinking that if i can, i would love to go and check that out after the tour! But yeah, have to see how far the finances will stretch!

G'Day all!

I will also be joining the tour starting on the 23rd of May. It'll be my first time overseas, and it'll be awesome.

I'll also be staying in London from the 19th of May at the Royal National Hotel, too, as well as for a few days after the tour.

Just over four months to go ... yeah! :-)

Anyhow, my name is Mark, (23), and I'm from Adelaide, Australia.

Would be great to get in touch before we meet. Following the trend, my email address is:

Have fun,
-Mark.

Hey guys,

I'd love to join the facebook trend but at the moment my trip is a super big secret from my employer. They won't know until about 6 weeks out as I'm not planning on coming back. Once I've quit my job, I'll get you all on facebook and stuff. Sorry if it seems rude Big Grin

My god I'm excited!

Hey Paul and all!

Sorry for the late reply! Am heading to London via USA for a week, then am not planning on staying in London after the contiki, pretty much leaving the next day to spend two weeks travelling up through the lake districts to Scotland! Then heading back to NZ to work, how exciting, not! Have taken 9 weeks off for this trip.

Am getting more excited as the time goes by, can't believe how fast the months are going by!!!!

Wow, 9 weeks in total, nice! First time overseas, Charys?

Only 3.5 months to go, that's going to fly by so fast...

Still can't wait!

Cheers,
-Mark.

Hey Mark,

Yeah I'm looking forward to a nice long holiday (although i can imagine it's going to be very full on!) I have been overseas a few times in the past, went to the UK in 2006 for a month to visit family and have a look around.

It must be even more exciting for you since it's your first time overseas! What are your plans after the contiki apart from staying in London - are you planning on more travel?

Hi Charys,

Yep, first time, new experiences and all that. Smiler

It'll be great getting off the plane in London, not knowing much about the place, and to work it all out yourself, with 6-7 weeks of adventure in front!

After the trip, I'll stay in London for a few more days until my flight, and come home and resume the 9-5 grind. Wink

I leave London on July 1, from memory...

Cheers,
-Mark.
