I will be travelling alone as well, since most of my friends don't want to put up the cash. I have been to Italy once, two summers ago, so I understand a bit of the European culture, but I have never travelled with Contiki before. I originally looked through Trafalgar Tours, which is the sister company, but they sent me to Contiki, and these tours are amazing! I'm still trying to decide if I want to go on the Great Britain/Ireland tour as well! Goodluck!

Hey,

Me and my friend Natalie are booked on the tour leaving the 30/05/06, I'm not sure if this is the same tour you are talking about? This is my first tour, in fact I have never been out of Australia so it should be great fun! Would be great to chat to anyonegoing on this tour.

I haven't booked this tour yet...but I'm definately going...!
I think my most anticipated stop will be Croatia (Dubrovnik) and being on the Adriatic!

Going solo is ideal!  I wanted to do a backpacking trip but I figured that would be more of another job than a vacation so I took the tour route.  My sister went on Contiki and she enjoyed it...I'm hoping we get a lot of alone time to explore on our own.

So do any of you know what London Airport would be best to fly into.  I'm still waiting for a rep to get back to me.  I'll keep you informed otherwise.

Ciao for now,
Joysea

My sister and I are going on this tour on May 28th! I really can't wait. I've never been overseas before, or on a plane for that matter so it's going to be quite the experience!

I'm just worried about not having enough funds, or not packing the right stuff. Are you all bringing suitcases? or back packs? or what? What about travellers checks, or cash??

So yeah we'd love to chat with people planning on going on this trip. It'd be nice to know a few friendly places before hand!

Hi.  I'm going on this tour too.  I'm psyched.  I have a few friends who have gone on tours with Contiki and they recommend it for first time Europe travellers.

It's my first time to Europe as well.  I think I'm more nervous about finding my way from the Airport to the Hotel in London more than anything.

I'm staying for about a month after the tour to do more travelling... Is there anyone else thinking about the same thing?

Hi.

Do any of you still check this site?  I have so many questions about Europe, like the size of pack to bring, if you're travelling afterwards, etc. so it would be cool if you're still around that we could chat.

Hi All,

Haven't been to Europe but I've done my research on these tours.

Traveler checks are a hassle!!

Ask you tour guide about the bus to the hotel.  It's all organized.

Suite case dimensions and weight are strict.
    - 20 kgs (44 lbs)
    - 29" tall, 20" across, and 10" deep
    - Not sure whether to take a suite case or back pack either,
but you'll use the suite case again for sure

I'll be taking the same tour just on May 31.  I'm sure you'll all have a great time!!

Hi everyone.

Ive booked and paid for this tour on this date, and i cant wait. I went on a contiki tour 3 years ago, and had the time of my life, its truely a blast, even more so if your a bit of a party animal Wink
As for your questions...
The easiest way to the hotel is to catch the underground from Heathrow to Russel Square. Royal National is just a couple of blocks from there.
As for what to bring... Well it will be summer, and HOT! You'll need bathers for the Chateau (if the poolis open), maybe Cannes, and deffinetly Mykanos. Oh and dont forget your drinking shoes lol

I will be flying into London a couple of weeks before the tour to do some travelling, and the i am doing a tour in Ireland after contiki.

Any other questions, or if you just want to chat, email me at mccoy9@hotmail.com
