Anybody planning for September 2008? I wonder if there are any dates that are guaranteed in September? This will be my second Contiki tour. Went on Eastern Road in Sept 07. Great tour!

I may go on this tour during September 2008 though won't know for sure until I get the brochure. Also wanting to go on the Great Britain-Summer tour in May for my birthday.

How was the Eastern Road tour?

From the 07-08 Europe brochure there was a guaranteed date in September, so I'm hoping there is another one next September. The Great Britain tour sounds like fun, I'm planning on doing that in the next couple of years. The Eastern Road tour was great. Eastern Europe is really beautiful and apparantly the hotels on the tour are considered the best of all Contiki tours. I was also told that the Amsterdam to Barcelona tour was one of the best by my tour driver from Eastern Road. I've been to Paris before but I would like to go again. You should do Eastern Road when you get a chance, Prague is really beautiful and the visit to Auschwitz was something I will never forget. MelSmiler

I would really like to go to Eastern Europe, especially to Prague. Last month, I went on a holiday to the Balkans and one of the cities in particular, Ljubljana, offered the same type of baroque architecture found in both Vienna & Prague. I am also wanting to go to Romania & Bulgaria as I feel that those are two countries will soon be the among the next "must see" destinations.

Where are you from?

I'm from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Where are you from? Some people on my tour thought Prague to be over rated and thought Budapest to be the better of the two, but I disagree. MelSmiler

I live on Long Island, New York. Have you ever been?
My dad's side of the family is Canadian, so I have lots of relatives living in Toronto.

I'm surprised to hear people say bad things about Prague, as everyone I know who's gone to Prague has loved it.
I did spend one night in Budapest and thought it was an ok city. I much preferred Vienna.

I've been to NYC three times but unfortunately not Long Island. I agree I preferred Vienna over Budapest but Contiki didn't give us much time to fully appreciate Vienna. I think six hours in total? I know I sound eager but I am paying for the Amsterdam to Barcelona tour in November just to get the money out of the way. I'll wait to pay for the flight next year. Probably will fly KLM direct to Amsterdam. Just to give you a little info, I am a 28 year old female who works as a nurse. As of now I am going alone on the tour but my friend Joe who I went with on Eastern Road may come along next year but I'm not holding my breath. MelSmiler

Hamilton is about an hour drive away from Toronto, in between Niagara Falls and Toronto. My dad lives in Toronto and works as a bus driver for Toronto Transit. It must be such fun to live near NYC, I love that city! MelSmiler

There's nothing wrong with wanting to book the tour so early. I know once the brochure comes out, thy're going to have to forcibly remove it me with whatever means necessary.
Since you told me about yourself, let me do likewise. I'm 32, have gone on 4 Contikis and am asenior Accountant for a credit card company.
Long Island's a good place to live but it can't come close to NYC. I love the city and try to spend as much time there as possible.

Would you feel comfortable, exchanging emails?

Sure! My email address is mugglebe@hotmail.com. What contiki tours have you done? Eastern Road was my first. Speaking of credit cards I have alot of credit card debt but much to my friends frustration I still go on my trips. I figure life is short I'll pay them off eventually. I don't use my credit cards much anymore just for use when on vacations. MelSmiler

Hi,
I'm planning on doing this tour in September 2008. I think there is a guaranteed departure on September 11, 2008. I know it's probably not the best date to be traveling in an airplane but if it IS a guaranteed departure I'll probably be going on that one.

Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists,
but I was neither, so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Jews,
but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out.
And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out..."

I've booked for Sept 11-22, also coming solo from Toronto. Going to be coming a day early and leaving on the 25th - thinking about hopping over to Ibiza for nights of the 22nd-23rd.

Never done Contiki or even Europe before, super excited!
