Hi my friend and I are going to be doing the October 5th Contrast Reef & Rock Tour. We're from Canada and will be arriving in Sydney on October 3rd. We're staying an extra night after the tour is over in Alice Springs then spending a few days in Hawaii. Would love to hear from anyone who will be travelling then!

I'm departing Sydney on October 5th as well. However im doing the reefs and rainforest trip. Im almost positive our tours are together until about Whitsunday's. Im coming in from Canada as well and will be traveling alone. Cant wait!!!
We're flying out of Toronto on the 1st, to give us a couple days before the tour in Sydney. We fly from Alice Springs at the end of the tour to go to Hawaii for a few days so we don't have a lot of time in Sydney!!

I fly in on Friday the 3rd as well from Heathrow into Sydney. Are you staying at the Travel lodge? I'm sure going to have fun trying to find that place!
It's so hard deciding what to pack - and I can't even take my favourite hairspray with me as it's in an aerosol can. Are you excited yet?
haha..alison sounds like you are just like me...ive been slowly making a list of what i need and its insane what i have down....i feel your pain on the hair products though..im going to have to do some searching to find stuff that is allowed on the plane...
Im actually staying with my best friend in sydney....after the trip is over im spending a few days in Cairns on my own and then flying back to sydney to spend about 2-3 weeks with her!
Im actually really hoping that we are all together on the tour!! Sounds like its going to be so much Fun...Jen im so jealous that you guys are going to Hawaii....if i had more time i would have done that for sure!! What time do you guys depart from the travellodge at on the 5th??? I depart at 7:30 with my first stop in Port stephens (shoal bay) after a bit of time in sydney....
Hey Alison you can take your aerosol hairspray in your checked luggage, it's just your carry on that they're picky with. I'm a travel agent so I can asked all the ime what can and can't be brought. What time do you arrive on the 3rd? I think we get in about 7:30 in the morning. Hey Laura yes I'm departing from the Travelodge at 7:30 too!! I can't believe the trip is so close, it's all I can think about now. My friend and I booked it over a year ago so it's been a long time coming. Woohoo!!
I don't know about the aerosol cans, I don't think so. I'm tempted to call up Contiki and see what they advise so will keep you posted...a girl's got to have her hairspray - well I do anyway!
Laura - Yep it looks like we're all setting of at 7.30 on the 5th. Ps - I'm flying out there on my own too. I hope I have some cool people to sit next to on the plane!

Hey, does anyone know if travellers cheques are okay to use out in Australia? I don't want to take wads of cash but don't know if travellers cheques will be hard to exchange over there?? x
Hey Alison, check out this website: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permi...hibited-items.shtm#2 then click on the link that says 'Makeup, Medication, Personal Items & Special Needs Devices', it's listed there that you can even bring it on board as long as it's 3 oz or less. I know I've packed it in my checked and never had a problem before! I can find out today at work about travellers cheques for you ok!
