I must say i am excited to know that you are from South Africa. I was looking to working abroad for a year there!

if you get the chance again you should definately give SA a try, especially Cape Town, its amazing! i was there this last weekend so could show you some awesome pics.
Have you been on contiki before? i have no idea what to do but am really excited to do it anyway! I see you are from Canada, that probably the next place i want to see after Europe. A friend of mine went there last year and said it was awesome!

I am from Canada. Toroton to be exact. It is nice here, but i am sick of the snow. it went overboard this year.
This will also be my first contitki... sooo excited. My friend Denise and i need to prep for the late nights and drunkeness thats for sure haha.

you're right about that! i have to start saving now, because with the power of the SA Rand, even 1 beer is going to cost me a fortune! I actually chose this contiki date because by starting on a wednesday, we end up spending the friday night in Munich, and more specifically, a Beerhall!! i've always wanted to do that!

i didn't even think to figure out what day we were where. Friday in Germany, excellent. My buddy just went to Germany during our reading week and its awesome. I'm looking forward to the giant, and i mean giant, pretzels they have there.

i had no idea about the pretzels, that sounds awesome! o, pics of Cape Town. I loaded some on Facebook. If you're on it, look me up under "Campbell Nel" its a strange name so i doubt there are any others! Then check my 2 Oceans 2008 pics... thats a 56km marathon i ran with a camera. Not the greatest pics but you will get a good idea of how beautiful Cape Town is. in fact, the 2 Oceans marathon is dubbed "The worlds most beautiful marathon"

i'm starting to become concerned that we seem to be the only 2 going on this date... unless people are too shy to chat to Canadians, and South Africans!
anyway, i've been meaning to ask you... are you getting to London earlier than the departure date? i'm arriving on the monday morning, and want to see the sights of London over the 2 days before the contiki. i'm hoping to get one of my friends living in London to show me around, but its a work day so i might end up having to go solo. So if you and whoever else is keen, then it would be cool to get a bunch of people together.

It does seem like we are the only two chatting on here. But i know of you, me, my friend, Roy and a guy Benny who i chatted to on here. So there are a few of us.
When i booked months ago we had our travel agent ask the contiki rep how full the tour was. We were told the tour was half full already. So no worries.
However, i don't think many people are familiar with the forums section. So that could be why people aren't leaving msgs.
Denise and I are going a day early. so we get 2 days in london to do as we please.

i see... thanks for the info. I added Denise and Benny as a friend from the facebook contiki that you sent me. So far Denise has added me but we havent chatted yet.
ok we can worry about the london thing closer to the time, but i am really keen to see the sights.
i am there 2 days before the trip as i said, but also there for the weekend after (great having friends there so accomadation is free!)
only thing is my friend that i am staying with is plotting revenge for what i did to him when he visited in Cape Town a few years ago... he still has'nt recovered from the amount we made him drink! So i can only presume i will be stuck in some pub for that weekend and won't get to see anything.
