I am living in California currently. I will be traveling alone. This is my first Contiki tour.

Oi! I'm bringing regular luggage and a shoulder bag. From the sound of things, I'm going to detest my luggage before the trip begins.

I'm arriving on the 17th of June. I'm checking out the rest of the UK and visiting my boyfriend before the tour (not particularly in that order).

How is preparation going?

Yes! There appeared to be minor confusion with the tour dates. For example, my tour is scheduled from June 19-30, whearas yours is 21-30. Because of these extra days (included in our itinerary to cover flying time -I'm flying from US), some of us were unsure what posts to reply to.

my friend and I will also be going on this trip. We are from Halifax, NS, so we had the same problem as p(ana)ceana where our dates are a bit different.

We will be arriving on the 20th and staying on til the 3rd of july to do some extra site seeing in London.

Am I the only one?

I'm from Australia and travelling alone too. I'm arriving in London the night before and probably won't make to pre-trip meeting. I have no idea what to pack as I am a typical girl as well. I defiantely haven't worked out whether to take a suitcase or backpack!

Come on ladies! Being a typical girl is no excuse for not knowing what to pack. Just take the basics. I, too, consider myself a typica girly, but you're not wanting to lug heavy bags around the whole time.

Think practical... you're going to need enough underwear for the full 10 days and maybe extras for the "out" nights or if you do excursions where you may (or may not) end up in water. Bring 1 pair of jeans, 2 or 3 skirts/shorts, maybe 2 singlets, 2 t'shirts, 1 warm top, bathing suit, beach towel and bath towel... hand wash clothes mid-afternoon to night and hang them to dry if you want to continue wearing. Take a nice dress or 1 lot of out clothes just incase...

Hope this helps - surely you'll be purchasing things along the trip too, so keep that in mind.
