Aaw, that's a pity - thought you were on the same tour. I will definitely let you know how it is, although I'm sure it will be fabulous!
I booked my flights in December already - through Travelstart. I managed to get them for R17100 (for both of us), all inclusive, which I thought was quite reasonable. The sooner you book, the better. The same goes for the Contiki tour - you can end up saving at least R1500.
ohh another thing when u get back plz advise me on visa applications-they r stressing me, paid for everything just need to start visa applications, and was able to convince 3 of my girlfriends so i am not going alone
Hi Masego, the trip exceeded all my expectations - it was awesome, fabulous, spectacular...you will have a wonderful time, and now I'm so jealous because I wish I could be back there. VISAS: You need a UK visa for London - just google "UK visas for South Africans" and it should bring up all the info you need. The UK visa costs R991. You'll need a Schengen visa for the rest of Europe. If you're also doing the European Horizons tour, you'll need to get it through the French Consulate in your city. Since you're in most of the places for the same duration of time, you need to get it for your first port of entry. It's 60 Euro, so it works out to about R700, give or take, depending on the exchange rate at the time you apply. Word of advice: Only apply for your Schengen visa once you receive your vouchers from Contiki - you'll need to submit a copy with your application.
Hope that helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. You can e-mail me at nadiae85@gmail.com or find me on Facebook - Nadia Ebrahim...I'm the one in the white dress with a pink jersey, and a rose.
