Hey! - I'm on the same trip as you,can't wait! - When are you coming to London?

I’m arriving to London on Aug 26 in the morning which is the same day we should be checking in at our hotel. Afterwards, I figured I’ll go out for a walk around town until we meet everyone at night. Last Contiki tour I took was a lot of fun so I expect this one to be the same!

Well great, I know a couple of others on the same tour, maybe they will write on here...

Where are you coming from?

I’ll be flying from New York to London.

Btw, have you received your traveling package from contiki yet?
Have yet to receive anything from them… hopefully it will be arriving soon.

I'm already in London (british!) doing europe as I was in Ethiopia for a year last year.

I received my Contiki stuff a couple of weeks ago, though they did say that it wouldn't be arriving til roughly 2 weeks before. - Did you book via a travel agent??

How did you like Ethiopia? I hear it can get scary at times but I guess that’s true of any country in the world.

I’ll wait until the middle of August to see if I get the contiki package otherwise I guess I’ll give them a call directly.

So Explorer1106596, what part of the world are coming from? Have you traveled with Contiki before?

Btw, since Kat is already living in London I think is only right for her to give us the tour of the city our first day there. Lol

Ethiopia was so alien to me when I first arrived, but I loved every minute of it. I was working with Oxfam GB and US AID. There were a few scary moments, maybe I'll share them on the long coach journeys!!

Albert which other contiki have you been on?

I went on the Spanish Highlights tour about 2 years ago and had a really good time!

I'm arriving early afternoon of the 26th, and Im still trying to decrease the amount of stuff that I'm taking, - so is there anything essential that you'd recommond to take Albert?

Probably the one single most important item to bring to any trip is a comfortable pair of shoes! You wont believe the amount of walking were are going to do…. Hence a pair of comfortable shoes is essential!
I would also bring a sweater/pullover just in case it gets a bit cooler at night.

So what type of travelers are you guys?
Are you more into museums and sightseeing or more of the party all night traveler?

I think im probably a bit of both… I like sightseeing but I also like going out at night and mingle with my fellow travelers.

I'm not even sure if I'm taking heels/wedges, I thinks thats helped though! - thanks

Im up for anything sight seeing and partying most nights deppends how tired i get i dont want to be grouchy for the next day.
I think im mostly looking forward to the white water rafting and also making lots of new friends.
