Hi leon. when u asked where i stayed at, do u mean before and after the tour? Before the tour I stayed at Generator hostel, a 4 minute walk away from the meeting point for contiki, which is Royal National Hotel. You can also stay at the royal natinal, and get to meet some of your tour group the night before. when i finished in athens after the 22 days, i flew straight back to london, so i dont know anythng about athens (cos athens is a sht city)

Should we bring a laptop, or just forget it? (is it too much of a hassle)

it would have been nice to have my laptop, but seriously, i wouldve only needed it for facebook or putting my photos on there. but yeah leave it at home. it def is a hassle, and u cant really leave it in the tent or bus and its diff to charge. just make sure u bring enough memory cards (or enough memory) for taking photos (at least 4gb, more if ur snap happy)

I've heard to bring a padlock for the tent? How many should we bring (does the tend have more than one entrance)?

i dont think u need a full-on padlock. the tent only has one entrance, so i used a combination lock to lock up my tent, rather than a key-lock, cos u might lose the key!

Hi Byron,
I am thinking of doing the 22 day camping tour June 2010. The only thing is, i am traveling Europe to see the culture and learn about it's history. And therefore not sure that i will get enough time to explore each country with the Contiki tour. I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about the structure of your day to day travels as in what time you start your day, how many hours you have to explore etc?? I just keep hearing that contiki doesn't give you enough free time. One person said they were in Paris and only had 10 mins to explore the Eiffel tower cause the bus was picking them up?? Does contiki gove you the option of making your own way back to the campsite?
