I am going to the Oktoberfest as well. I was just looking for accommodation in Munich. This is one of the reasons why I am going to Europe so late in the year. It is going to awesome.

After the tour I am heading to Slovenia for a wedding and then to Croatia, Austria, Germany and London before heading to Mauritius for a 3 week break on the beaches. I guess I will need a rest after all the travelling.

Depending how much of Prague we see on our tour I might be heading there as well for an extra day or two.

The Rugby world cup in France is going to be unreal; you are going to have a ball.

I live in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

I am ONLY going to be away for 11 weeks, I wish I could stay and work my way around. You guys are so lucky. Cool

do you know what dates you'll be at oktoberfest? did u end up booking accomodation?

Liv, I would definitely advise against meeting up with dave before the trip. He is quite annoying and not exactly easy on the eye. Best to keep a low profile so you minimise your time with him - i know i'll be avoiding him most of the time throughout europe. He has this horrible tendancy towards.....well..... best not go in to it....

Hey Dave

Sorry it took forever to respond. Had issues with the internet but looks like it's all ok now. As I had no internet I couldn't really plan much more of my trip. I haven't decided where I will be staying before the tour starts. How much are you paying to stay at the royal national?

I am arriving in London on the 12th of August at about 7pm. I am going to look for a place to stay near Heathrow for the first night and then on the 13th make my way to a place near the Contiki Basement. Interested to hear if you know of any places on the cheap. Good idea to have a few to kick it all off.

I found a place called "The Tent" which is near Munich. I think I will stay there while in Munich. I will be going to Berlin as well. I am trying to organise the best way to see as much as I can. Be cool to have drinks there too. Let me know what dates you'll be there and i'll try and organise it around that.

There looks like there is someone else on our tour but doesn't sound like they are a fan of yours Razzer

Is there anything you'd like to share Eeker

I can't wait. I just bought my backpack but it still feels like it isn't happening.

hahaha...

introducing nick (the guy i have the pleasure of travelling with)... as you can tell, he's an absolute charmer!! i found him drunk and naked on my front lawn yesterday morning - not a pretty sight but i guess we will both have to get used to it travelling round europe with 'it'! he likes to stir crap and make false accusations Smiler

in munich we're staying at a couple of different places - i dont have the names of them but we'll be with 3 other mates so there wasnt enough accomodation at the tent so we couldnt get in!

with regards to london, we're staying at the piccadilly hotel (a cheap hostel) for a week before the trip then staying at the royal national - the place contiki recommends next door for the night before...

yeah im getting very excited too - i leave in exactly 1 month yesterday!! can't wait!!

so at this stage it looks like its just you me and nick doing the trip!! oh well more leg room on the buses for us!!

my email is walkerway@hotmail.com if you wnat to email me... send me yours for when im in london!

and as for nick, im sure he will have some sort of stupid reply to come - that is if he's not asleep on someone elses front lawn this morning! Smiler

Liv, i was out with dave last night and the disgraceful human was bloody sitting there and mid-conversation decided he'd have a cheeky spew. What is that ****? Congratulations dave, you're a real treat.

Dave also has the tendancy of going walkabout halfway through a night out and waking up having no idea where he is. He had to research investing in a GPS in case he gets too lost on his foreign adventures.

Hey Guys,

OMG, you're right. Not long to go at all. I picked up my tickets this week. Now the panic is starting to sink in. But so is the excitement. I can't wait...

When are you guys arriving in London? I get in on Saturday 11th. I am staying at the Piccadilly Hotel for Saturday and Sunday, then going to Generator hostel on the Monday.

Our itinerary is awesome. Can't wait to meet and have a drink. Let me know if you're keen to meet up before the tour starts.

Just really counting down the days... Cool
