My partner and i are off on our very first overseas trip and after great debate have decided on the 22 day camping trip it cover most of the countries we have always wanted to see. We are looking forward to a trip of a life time.

Anyone else going on this trip????

22 Day Camping Tour Sept 4 - 25 2007

Hi, Yeah I am going to be going on that tour. Im from Perth, Australia. Will be my first time in Europe, so very excited. After the tour ends, I am headin back to Munich for the Oktoberfest for 4 - 5 days.

Wow, oktoberfest sounds great we have to come straight back to australia. Otherwise there is so much more i would love to do while we are there, australia is so far away from everywhere i feel like i am missing out on a great opportunity...

I know what you mean! Im lucky enough that work is letting me take 6 weeks off to enjoy Europe just that little bit extra. I am officially buying my contiki ticket next week for the camping tour. I will fly out on 31st August and be staying at the backpacker hostel for 3 nights prior to our departure. Im travelling alone which will be different too. But its all going to be worth it. I have 2 weeks extra after the tour to go to Munich, then again to Amsterdam and hopefully up to Norway or Sweden before I have to go home. Hopefully a Eurorail pass will help for those options.

We fly out of sydney on the 31st of August, flying Virgin Atlantic... We have booked and paid for our tour.... there went the life savings.... I had am sorta leaving my job to go on the tour... we when i get back it will be hitting the street and looking for a job.... who are you flying with???

My partner & I are also going on this tour. It's the first time either of us have been to Europe and I am SOOO excited I just can't wait!

We fly out of Auckland on 1st Sept and have booked one night at the Royal National, the other we were hoping to find a bed at the Generator Hostel. After the tour we are doing a stop over in San Francisco for 2 nights.

Seeing this thread has just made me even more excited!

So what drew you to camping and europe???

We are Daniel and Joce he is 21 and I will be turning 21 at the end of Feb.

Our trip actually started off as a Singapore holiday and then evolved from there. We were going to do the Highlights tour or something around that price range but one of the girls from my work suggested I do the camping. She had done a camping tour a couple of years ago and said you stay in pretty much the same places except in tent. Also she said it was much more sociable camping.

I'm so glad I found this thread it's great to know there are more than just us booked and rearing to go...

I will be flying with Malaysian airlines on the Thursday the 30th August 2007. That way I get a few days to get over jet lag before the big bus trip goes underway. Hopefully I will get a bed at the Generator Hostel. Still have to book that. I still have to book the 2 tours im going on yet. But that should be done by end of this week.

We had the same idea we are landing in londay september 1st in the moring to give us some time to get settled, relaxed and rested for the tour.... We were looking at the munich your your doing after the 22 day camping trip i wanted to do it --- But it is a little out of our budget at the moment.... But you should have a blast....

Our trip started as a trip to thai land for out 1 year anniversary, but very quickly changed to a europe trip... but either way i would have been happy... we were worried about the camping thing but from reading other people's stories it sounds like they have had a blast of a time.....

Although i will have to learn how to put up a tent...

Have you guys checked out the optional tours yet... we are a little torn weather to do them or not but i was reading on this site that normally most perople take part in the optional and they are a good chance to get to know everyone and have a good time.....

Yay, Ive booked my 2 tours now! I was lucky enough to still find accomodation in Munich after Oktoberfest as well. Im glad I got in early.

Congrats on booking your tours - its wicked cool that you get to stay on in Munich afterwards, Oktoberfest just sounds like the craziest coolest experience ever!
Have you had trouble trying to book a room at the generator hostel through the website?

Christmas is still kickin our budget in the butt but hopefully by March we will also be starting to buy clothes etc. We went away last weekend and had so much bags Im so nervous about packing only a small amount for a MONTH!

The countdown is on - 6 months 24 days

Yeah, I only just confirmed today the Generator Hostel. So that was wierd. Hopefully its all good. Ive booked for 4 nights. They must of been having computer probs or something.
