I've booked to go on the Europe 46 Day Camping tour leaving 15 July 2008. Anyone else booked this tour?
I love Contiki tours. I've done the Contiki Grand Explorer tour in New Zealand in 2005 and the Simply Italy tour in 2003 - both were a lot of fun, and I made many friends I still keep in contact with.

hey, 15th July 46 day camping, my first tours just booked! also booked the grand northern. So excited!! Do u have n e tips for the tours? you sound well traveled. Apparently we get some contiki stuff sent 2 us? do u know n e thing bout this?

Sorry for late reply. I've been in northern Thailand with the elephants where there was no internet or mobile coverage for me.
I already have my Contiki documents. Due to leaving Australia early they had to send them out earlier than usual. You (or your travel agent) should receive your Contiki Travel Pouch containing your travel docs probably a month before you depart. In the pouch you get the tour voucher you are required to give when everyone first meets, mini travel booklet on Europe and accommodation information. Due to receving my docs early Contiki have left many of the camp sites off my accom info, and just have 'to be advised', so I will need to check with them closer to the date of our tour.

ChaoticTraveller, the Thailand trip sounds amazing. one of my friends just got back from there n said it was amazing. The photos she had were incredible of the elephants.

I hope you have received your docs by now. If not I would be getting in touch with your travel agent, who should contact Contiki so you get your Document Wallet of information. Don't expect to have accomm details given for all places we stay on the tour as they probably still haven't finished organising that yet.

Thailand was awesome, hot and cheap. I highly recommend it. Highlights were volunteering in the Elephant Nature Park, visiting Tiger Temple where monks look after tigers and the over the top Grand Palace in Bangkok. I'm currently using the free internet at Singapore airport before flying to London.

As per my Contiki document we meet at the early time of 6am on July 15th at the Contiki Basement at the Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way, Russell Square, London WC1. The place is not fare from Russell Square Gardens, an easy landmark to find.

I'm actually moving to London (arriving tomorrow!), for as long as the UK Working Holiday visa allows me, so hopefully by the time of our tour I will be able to recommend places in London for ppl to check out, away from the usual touristy sites.

I have a younger brother called Aaron who is also 22. Wierd stuff. It's also good to see you're from Vancouver, 'cause nearly every Canadian I know is from Calgary for some reason.
If you're into beaches we go to plenty of good bearch places on this tour...French Riviera, Corfu, Agean coast.
I'm into European architecture, history and night life.
For anyone who is looking for cheap accom in London, there are plenty of hostels around the place. Just check out www.hostelworld.com.

VISA INFO

Okay Aussies, I have just looked up which countries we need visas for our Contiki trip.

It looks like we need visas for three countries. For Turkey you can obtain a visa at the border for approx US$20 and Albania you can also obtain a visa on arrvial however this can vary between US $5-$60.

The only country that might be a problem is Macedonia. According to www.visalink.com.au we need to apply for a visa prior to entering the country. I will look into this a bit more and get back to you with details. Or if you already know the info that would be great.
