p.s - does anyone know whats the deal with tent buddies? Are we paired up or do we just find a tent and drop ur stuff in it?

Nice to meet you, my names Ross from NZ. Anyway if you are traveling by your
self and don't have a tent buddie Contiki will pair you with someone.
They're pretty considerate so you can ask to be paired with someone of the same sex etc. I think you sort this out when the tour departs.... Don't quote me on that though.

Thanx for the info on the whole tent share thing. Guess we'll find out what happens for sure soon enough! So are you just doing the tour then heading home? This tour covers so much that i think we will all need a holiday to recover : ) So whats the deal, are there only us 5 ppl going on the tour? Another silly question - are most of the ppl who do contiki big drinkers? From what i've read, this is what i've gathered..

It doesn't seem that there are many of us doing the tour, but its already a confirmed departure - so there must be at least 20 of us.

To be honest with u I hope that not everyone is a big drinker - I personally don't want to see Europe in the haze of a hang over.  I'm heading over there on the 1st of June (oooh 2 months tomorrow!!! ) and spending a couple of weeks with some friends then doing the tour, then spending another week or so with my friends.

I was a little worried about the whole tent buddy thing too - until I "met" Ross - so we've been chatting and just decided to share - at least we've worked it out ahead of time - u might like to try the same??

I'm a bit worried about the whole spending money thing - i think i'm only going to have about AUD$4500 - do u think that'l be enough??

I just wanted to thank you all for helping me out by answering my questions and introducing yourselfs (Ross, Laura, and anyone else who replied). Unfortunately im going to have to pull out of this tour which is a real shame cause its sounds fantastic and seems like it has some great ppl on board!

I leave nz on the 20th of may for a week in japan and a couple weeks in the uk with family.
