We will be locking our suit cases on the flight and in the room as well as our day packs. I have also heard bad reports of theft from people i know that have been to Europe. We are also thinkg about money belts. Do you all plan to leave your valuebles (passports, money, cards ect.) in the room or carry them on you? I've been told to carry them on me, but am not sure if im comfortable with that. Do our hotel rooms have safes?

I also plan to take some laundry stuff for small amounts of washing in our room. By the way thanks, for the info on the mobile.

Has anyone got thier documentation yet? It's getting close now? Does anyone plan to go to the Moulin Rouge in Paris? Should i book now or when we are there?

Sharby - We are going to Singapore first for 2 nights so we leave Melbourne on the 13th of April. Our flight from Singapore is a midnight flight leaving on the 16th and arriving on the 16th in London. I'm not sure if this will be the same flight as your self..

I'm still a bit unsure about whether to leave passports in the hotel or not..I wonder whether they'll fit into the money belt, I think I'd feel safer with them on us but then i'd be worried about them being in our bag and it getting stolen..hmm some food for thought there...i suppose if there does end up being a safe in the hotel room we'll leave them there but I imagine some rooms won't have them in them.

Nope haven't got documentation hopefully by the end of the month though!

Yep we're going to the Moulin Rouge optional

Okay about facebook for some reason it's being a pain in the bum - I get the requests to join come through from facebook and I click on the link to approve the request and then there is nothing there! it's weird - anyone know how to fix it? I also looked at just making it an open group but I can't see where to change it. Grrr - if anyone else wants to create a new one go ahead my attempt doesn't seem to want to let people in Confused Frowner

hi all,
ill be having locks on my bags all the time. i have been told by my travel agent that we are only aloud a 20 kg suitcase and that the bus driver is strict about how much weight we take. the travel agent also said that the back pack we take should fit under the bus seat.
oh, i picked up all my documentation two days ago! one month to go now! not long now.

I think we'll definitely be carrying our passports around with us at all times - I read somewhere that you are no-one in another country without your passport. It's just something that's really stuck in my head. We have money belts - just the standard type you see in most places and they do fit a passport.

Stuart is picking up our documents TODAY!! I cant wait until he gets home so we can spend the night getting to know them!

Yep, we are also planning to do the Moulin Rouge optional - although to be honest, I would have preferred to see the show without the meal, as I've heard its pretty lame. I'm not sure we will have that option though.

I can't wait to get our documentation, the hotels look good. After the tour we are visiting family in England, friends in Scotland and doing another tour of Great Britain and Ireland, we are also, going to Thailand for a week on the way home. I'm looking forward to our trip; it's getting really exciting now!

No worries! I've been reading some reviews on the hotels...just cut & paste the hotel name & google it...not all reports are so glowing! A wide variety of reviews on various hotels. I'm going into it not expecting too much - besides, it's only really for sleeping in. As long as its clean i'll be happy.
