I am about to book either the 31 August or the 7 September tour and just wanted others thoughts on what option is better - Mykonos or the cruise?? Be great to hear reasons for peoples choices.

I did the cruise option so of course I think that is the best option. Mykonos is the party scene so if you are after that then I am sure it would be great. With the cruise as well you get a great alcohol package most of the people who stayed at Mykonos spent a minimum of 300 euros on alcohol in those 4 days. Our alcohol pack for the whole cruise was 75euros-unlimited alcohol. The meals were great too. And the excursions were great! And we saw a bit more of Europe then what the Mykonos peeps did!

I'm on the 31st tour and I chose the Mykonos option - I had a couple of mates return from the Greek Island hopping last year at around the same time and they said Mykonos was absolutely awesome.

I reckon it will be a good break mid-trip to catch a bit of sleep and relax on the beach while still partying at night!

Let us know if you pick the 31st - there are a couple of us in the other thread who've already booked!

I'm on the June 22 tour and have chosen the cruise option. I'm going all the way over there from Australia so I may as well take the opportunity to see as much of Europe as possible! And Santorini is a huge drawcard for me! There will be plenty of opportunities to party on the trip so its not like I'll be missing out on the party scene!

I'm going on the June 6th...well leave canada June 6th leave london June 8th..anywho, i'm doing the cruiz option......y not see more, party on a cruiz....u only live once, see and do as much as posible!

It seems most people are favouring the cruise option. I have already booked for Mykonos, if there is no-one on my tour doing the Mykonos option can I change it? Am I able to contact Contiki closer to the date and find out what the numbers are doing each of them, and if I do want to change what is the latest I can?

we are doing the mykonos option. (your doing the 31st august time out explorer arent you?, thats the one we are doing) we figured that it will be time to just hang out and catch our breath a bit as its at day 16 of the tour and we will prolly need to chill out and sleep, haha. apparently from all reports mykonos is gorgeous.

Yeah I'd heard the same - and had picked that for pretty much the same reason as you. Crash out on the beach and relax during the day or even some water sports... then check out the night life at night.

And yeah, I'm on the 31st

I had trouble deciding too, so on advice from my travel agent booked the cruise option. After reading loads of forum posts, I think I have made the right choice!! I'm on the May 25 tour...anyone else??

me and ma best mate charlee are from perth, WA headin ova on 4th of sept to dept london on 7th sept.. we doin mykonos option- hearing good reports bout mykonos and figure few days in the sun to kick back will be good..!

I'm on the May 4th European Explorer. The tour will be pretty hectic so I picked the Mykonos option. I thought it would be good to take things at your own pace for a few days and catch up on some sleep. I'm sure both options would have it's benefits. I also read on other forums that you can do day trips to Santorini from Mykonos so I will try to do one of those. Any other May 4 people out there doing the Mykonos option?
