Hi there,
From Dec to Feb is the winter season in Egypt and will probably be the best time to visit as the weather will not reach the typical 40-50 range in the months of June -September.
British airways together with Egyptair do fly to Cairo/ Alexandria but are expensive.
I don't think easyjet/ryanair BMI or any of the budget carriers fly there.
Another option is to use Emirates to Dubai and from there a middle east pass onto Cairo/ Alexandria.
All the best.
