Hi Greg.....my friend De and I have just been rebooked to this tour. Its not too far away now! You should get those movies out...may be handy when there's a big boulder rolling behind us and one of us knows how to stop it..lol.

Hi- I was thinking about doing this tour. the posts have been very helpful to answer questions about safety and such. It sounds like the Egypt tour attracts an older crowd (25+ LOL)....what is the best time to go to Egypt?

It does seem more of the older age bracket does this tour, but I am 23 and my friend is 25 so we are on the younger side.
I think June is right in the really hot season not sure exactly how hot, but think around 40 - 50 degrees - dont quote me on that though! Not sure what would be the best time to go.

Ideally Egypt is best in the winter months of late nov till feb. In July its going to be around the high 40 or low 50 C mainly on the nile delta.Its a bit different from metro Perth summers in the sense that its always hot from 9 in the morning right till the evening. If you've experienced W.A heatwaves then you're all right.

I am doing the July 13-20 Egypt tour right after the Turkish Delight tour. Am so excited - think I have the same Indiana Jones vision that is going around this board! My friends couldn't get the time off from work to go, so if anyone else is going solo get in touch..

I will see all of you there on the 13th. I will also be rolling solo. I will actually be coming from Spain (for the running of the bulls).

From reading other blogs, it sounds like people are taking a day tour to Alexadria. Does anyone plan on doing that?

Also, anyone from the US already get their VISA?

My brother and I will be there. We get in aroung 2 pm on the July 14th. Does anyone know where we are staying throughout? We booked through a tour company an still don't have any details.

You'll be staying at the Hotel Oasis. Someone should be at the airport to pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. If you booked your flight separately you have to give the info to Contiki so they know when to pick you up. If you haven't gotten your documents yet you should probably contact contiki or whoever you booked the tour through.
