My name is Danielle and I just booked the March 6th tour last week (I guess there will be two of us!). I wish I had come on the forum before booking. I don't get in until 8:45 p.m. on the 7th, I would have loved to have come a day earlier and gone on the Alexandria tour. I'll be traveling solo. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi Danielle_M - I guess there will be at least 2 of us. I am travelling with my friend and this will be my 2nd contiki tour. Hopefully by time you get in & get settled there will still be at least a few of us still up & about.. I am hoping not to waste to much time sleeping. but it is a long flight... from NY anyway..

I live in NJ. My flight leaves on the 5th at 6:30 and I come back on the 15th around 9am from Cairo to JFK.

I'm coming from Toronto, so it's a bit of journey. This is my second Contiki trip too. I went to London and Paris a few years ago.

Karen - my friend and I have a direct flight leave the morning of the 14th from Cairo to JFK. I tried to change my flight today so that we have a night layover in amsterdam but it was not an option.. when I was booking our flights I had a good deal for round trip direct so I jumped on it not even thinking to add on a few extra days =(

Danielle - I went on the Simply Italy Trip about 4 years ago - it was a great trip as I am sure this will be. I went to school in Buffalo and have been to Toronto a few times it was like a mini NY - I had a good time.

I just got all my travel documents last week and I was wondering for those going on the March 6/7 tour, who is planning on doing the optional excursion to Abu Simbel? Are most of you leaving the 14th or are a lot of you staying an extra day?

Me & My Friend Nicole are doing the optional tour to Abu Simbel. We wish we thought to add a few extra days to the trip but did not so we are leaving the morning of the 14th...=( A little over 2 weeks to go... I am so excited... the weather looks like its warming up over there.

I am definitely planning to do the optional tour to Abu Simbel too. It's expensive but I read in different places that it's one of the most amazing places in Egypt and it tends to be less crowded then other places because it's out of the way so I don't want to miss out! I'm not too sure about the other optionals. I'm pretty sure I don't want to do the balloon ride. I am leaving on the 15th.

I am planning on doing the Abu Simbel excursion. I wish I was staying an extra day - I leave on the 14th at an extremely early time!

Karen, did you have the hot air balloon ride listed in your docs as an optional excursion? It's not listed on mine and I was really hoping to do it! I hope it's still offered.

Oh now that you mention it I don't think it was listed in the docs. I think it was just on the website.

I did not notice if the hot Air Balloon was listed in the itinerary..I am going to do that if it is an option. I leave really early on the 14th too I have to catch a 9:30am flight. =(
