Hi, I was wondering how many people are planning on getting their visas at the border? I think it's cheaper, but i'm concerned about delays or being denied. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

search below for a more in depth explanation, but don't get it ahead of time. it takes less than a minute to get your visa. slap money on the counter, they give you 2 stamps, you continue on through the gate, and your done customs.

I arrive into Cairo at 3:40 am....Is this done at customs or is there a separate visa office? My fear is that no one will be around at that time of day....Since I don't live in a city w/ an Egyptian Embassy it will cost close to $200 for the visa in advance (as opposed to the 15 - 20 I heard it costs)

Check this out:
http://connect.contiki.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/112105522/m/139104893

It costs USD 15 from the currency exchange which is open 24/7.
Another handy trick to to choose a passport page which is unmarked and insist that the clerk places it there. You will receive a nice entry and exit stamp.
Its a nice momento from your trip.
