are u travelling to cairo with klm airlines im on the 2050 flight
Hello James! Yeah, that's exactly what I've heard about Amsterdam - crazy place. I'm looking forward to checking it out. I'm flying Northwest & will be there from 10:55a to 8:45p - is 2050 your flight # or departure time - when will you be there? By the way my name is Karrianne...
hi karrianne 2050 is my departure time although its probably 2045 so id say we'll be on the same flight i get in to Amsterdam at 4pm so its only a couple hours wait but if my memory is any good think city is only about 15mins on the train and all the good stuff is within walking distance of the train station that said im not sure if its possible to leave the airport during a stopover do you know?
Hi James, so we are on the same flight to Cairo - that's good. I've been told I should check Amsterdam out when I'm there by my friend who is also my travel agent so I'm assuming we can take off for a while. I'm going to confirm that now that you mention it though...
james - found out about leaving the airport in Amsterdam - here's the scoop: "Yes, you can leave the airport. I spoke with someone very helpful at Northwest. She told me that you would just have to go through the passport control area and to the lower level of the terminal to take a train right into the heart of the city. Last time she was there, it was approx $8.00USD roundtrip and takes maybe 15-20minutes. You're luggage is checked all the way to Cairo so you won't need to worry about picking it up. She advised that you do speak to someone at the KLM counter (the flight from Amsterdam to Cairo is operated by KLM) to find out what time you need to be back to the airport so as not to miss the flight." cheers, KS
