Hello, I will be visiting Egypt in November. I understand I need to obtain a tourist visa. I'm concerned because my plane arrives at midnight. I have read several posts on this website which state that there is a visa office at the airport. Does anyone know if the visa office has regular business hours? I'm not sure if I should obtain a visa before I leave the USA or if I would have no problem getting one at the airport despite my midnight arrival. For those travelers who have been to Egypt and have arrived late at night, please describe your experience in purchasing a visa at the airport. Please help! Thank you.

Terminal 2 has a currency exchange which has the visa stickers for sale.It was always open 24 hours all days.
I believe the new international terminal 3 has just been commissioned so it might have a different system all together. Since you're getting a little concerned, its probably best to get it prior to arriving. It might just cost a little more but its better than having pre-tour anxiety and concerns about being knocked back for a visa at midnight. You're spending a substantial ammount on flights and tours all together, so another 20 or 30$ should not really come into the equation at all. |

We sent our Passports to the Egyptian Embassy and got them back within 2 weeks with stamps. I think it was about $15usd for both.

Hi there
I was pretty stressed about my visa too, until walked into Terminal 3, and there were a bunch of guys yelling "VISAS HERE", I handed over my 20usd and got a visa, no questions asked. It's very easy. |
