Dave and I are going on this trip. Feel free to e-mail us at drjsimonson@yahoo.com. I just randomly met an Egyptian on Saturday and got all kinds of tips and advice from him. It was great fun. He told me that I didn't have to worry about the souveniers being made in China, they truly are made in Egypt. He also said that riding a camel is a very good experience and they are well trained and cared for, however, as a novice camel rider, you'll probably want to ride over flatter areas for comfort. I did have a question for the group - are you getting your VISA at the Cairo airport, or before you depart?

I'm leaving from NYC as well. I am leaving JFK at 10:55pm on August 30th and getting to Cairo a day before the tour starts.

I can't believe we'll be leaving in 2 weeks! We did go ahead and get our visas in advance. I was able to download the application form off of the internet and mail it to the consulate in Texas. We got our passports back in about a week. See you all soon!
