Hello!

I am trying to get an idea of who is doing this tour, ages, singles etc!

I am a 19 year old single traveller from Australia and it would be great to hear from anyone doing the same tour!! It is my first time setting off into the big bad world on my own.

Also, if any one has done this trip before do you recommend the plane trip to Abu Simbel? Is it a dodgey plane lol?

My name is Patti and I'll be on the Egypt/Nile trip Dec 11-19. I'm also traveling alone. I have been wanting to do this trip for so long and decided it's finally time! =D

I'm scared I'm going to be the oldest person on this trip...I just turned 35! =( I traveled with Contiki before with my best friend, we did the European Encounter vacation a few years ago and we had so much fun!!! Unfortuneately she can't go with me this time...so I decided to go solo.

I'm from El Paso, Texas. I just got back from an awesome cruise to Alaska...you HAVE to do that sometime in the future!!

I think it's cool to at least know I won't be the only solo traveler. I'm looking forward to this vacation so much

I have not actually booked yet, i am trying to organise it all now so shall hopefully all fall into place!!

What day are you arriving in Cairo and then leaving?
I think i am arriving on the 9th and leaving on the 21st or something so am planning a trip to Alexandria after the tour. Hopefully it isnt too long, these dates give me cheap flights!

Yea...I'm booking my Egypt trip today for December!!

I went on this tour last December and it was a blast, you are going to have a great time. You don't want to miss Abu Simbel it is just amazing. The plane is fine, its one of those medium sized regional jets. Its a really short flight but they wake you up super early for it. Also make sure you do not miss the hot air balloon ride, it was the best part of the whole trip.

Patti don't be scared Im turning 34 this year. So you are not the only oldest person on tour.

I'm also going to be a solo traveller and I just hope that I'm not going to be the only South African traveler. If not that's okay I'm looking forward to meet new people.

I am looking forward to this trip so much! I was actually very lucky in that a coworker of mine decided to go with me this past weekend. She's a bit older than me, so I feel much better! My age was part of the reason I haven't booked this trip in years past! lol!!

I love meeting new people too and I'm sure we'll all get along great! I keep hearing that December is the best time to go on this trip...let's hope they're right! =D

Well I can agree why it is such a good time to go on December. Did you see the temperature during the summer times?

It is my first trip with Contiki and it is also my first trip going alone. If my finance is okay for next year then I really like to go to Greek Island or one of the Asia tours during June when the Soccer World Cup is in SA.

I really can't wait for December!

Me, my boyfried and brother are all coming on this tour. Our ages are all over the place - i'm 25, bf is 33 and brother is 19. I can't wait to go... have always dreamed of going to egypt. We're from Sydney and we'll land in Cairo on the 8th (after 4 days in Dubai) we deaprt on the 19th straight after the tour and head to Berlin for the Christmas week! This is gonna be great but there's one thing I'm missing on this trip and its that I really wanna see the Red sea. I've wanted to part the Red Sea like Moses since I was a kid watching the ten commandments. lol Anybody down to see if we can find some kinda day trip to a red sea spot like Hurghada or Sharm El Skeikh before or after the tour?

I hear the scuba diving is awesome in the Red Sea. y'all can tell I'm an island boy who loves the beach
