Hello again!

For all those of you out there who have booked a tour or been on one, how did you book the tour? Did you do it directly with Contiki, or did you go through a travel agent? Which would be the best route to take? If it's best to book with a travel agent, could anyone recommend one in Toronto?

Many many thanks,
Robert

Hey Robert,

I'm leaving on Dec 27th, I booked my tour a couple of months ago. I would say go with a travel agent (and I think Contiki themselves recommend that) purely because then you have someone else to take the blame if it stuffs up. It's just a matter of covering yourself more. Also travel agents can make sure you organised absolutely everything and you can contact them if you get stuck somewhere along the trip, without them you're on your own to sort it out. They can also make sure you have insurance and everything sorted.

My travel agent helped me so much because she's been there before and has heaps of tips. I did have to shop around to find her though, so wait until you find one you trust and who has been there before rather than feeling obliged to go with the first one you speak to.

Good luck!

I booked with my TA the first time. But I'm going to do everything myself this time. It just all depends on how savy you are at booking your own stuff, finding flights ect, transfers ect..

It all depends on you. If you can find a good ta who is familiar or better yet been on a contiki tour that would be great. Like LadyBug said shop around until you find one you like.

The advantage of having a good ta is that they can help you obtain any visas and info on shots ect that you might need per country.

I booked with Affordabletours.com and you receive a discount off of the Contiki listed price. I use Pat D and she's great. Used her several times.

We went to 2 separate travel agents, told them what we wanted to do and had them search flights. We booked thru the one that came back with the best flight itinary and lowest cost.
Travel agents are providing a service so make your getting your moneys worth.
