I'm thinking about going to the trip in November. Is there a chance to go to any of the clubs or see the night life and/or restaurants in Egypt? Any recommendations? What are the clubs like out there?

During the whole tour, you're isolated with the other members. All of the hotels have their own clubs/bars (including the cruise ship)--So it's party with your tourmates. I had no want to go anywhere else, it was fun enough. When we were in Luxor there were some clubs within walking distance that we went to, but I believe now they take you on another overnight train back to Cairo (skipping the flight back, and the hotel in Luxor.) It's a shame they did that, Luxor was a great time.
As for restaurants, the only time you'll need to do look for one is if you arrive early, the rest of the time the hotel food is good. I got in Cairo the day before the tour started, did my own site-seeing and let the private driver from the hotel take me to a restaurant. Bad decision. I'd do your own research on the restaurant, get good directions, then tell the driver to take you there. Stick to restaurants in hotels, the quality and service will be better. There is a restaurant about 100 yards away from the Egyptian Museum (I believe the Hilton) I went there for the ATM, and it seemed nice --if I had to do it over again, I would go there. I think I posted this before, but if I had the ability to do over the extra free day before the tour started I would: 1) Get up early, hire a driver from the hotel (it's cheap), go to the pyramids (not go into one of them, or do a camel ride --you'll do that the next day). Just spend a few hours walking around, exploring them (3 hours). (I did this, and had a better time then the following day on the tour). In two days you'll never get over the awe inspiring feeling of being near there, but I'd still want to spend as much time as possible there. 2) Have the driver drop you off at the Egyptian Museum, go to lunch (the hotel I'm talking about, when facing away from the main entrance, make a right, it's down the block on your left.) 3) Spend a few hours exploring the egyptian museum, (try and find a walkthrough guidebook before you leave-there is A LOT there, and no signs.) the tour doesn't spend nearly enough time there. 4) Go back to the hotel, they have a nice outdoor patio, relax, meet up with tourmates. I did that, except went to Coptic Cairo (boring) instead of the Egyptian Museum. |

As a warning to any girls that go on this trip, it is not safe to go out alone/without a male at any time of day, especially at night. You will be verbally harassed and some men may try to grope you.
