Hi there,
Egypt in July is in the middle of summer . The temperatures can reach almost 50 C in the Nile delta and can be uncomfortable to travel. December till Feb is the best time for Egypt. Did you know that Busabout has also introduced an Egyptian itenerary. Its similiar to Contiki's but significantly more affordable. Check them out on www.busabout.com Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the advice Praha! Im supposed to go this March but its such a short time to book. Im opting for 1st week of june. Will it still be that hot? I come from a tropical climate but we never reach 50 C. Ive endured the heat in Las Vegas but its not bearable. I'd rather visit during the cool months but November is too far away. I want to travel asap.
Will check out the other site you gave. Cheers

Unfortunately the middle east in June is very hot. It will be around the 45-50c range from around 10 in the morning till 10 at night. and might even have a humidity around the 60% mark.
Its a bit different to tropical conditions in like in S.E. Asia. Its a drier and energy sapping type of heat. You really have to limit your time outdoors. |

Hi! Ive check out busabout and they are cheaper. Have you travelled with them? With your advice on the climate, im thinking of going in the colder months. I'd better go somewhere else before my Egypt though. Thanks |

Hi there,
Egypt overall is a very inexpensive country and I don't understand why contiki marks up its tour so highly. Most other companies do not charge these rates for their Egyptian tours. I personally have not travelled with Busabout , but do know of many people who have and their honest responses have been very positive. They are and excellent company to travel with overrall. In comparing with Contiki , it looks like you do not have as many dinners on the busabout, but the itenerary is more relaxed. For instance at the start of the busabout tour you get 2 whole days in Cairo prior to heading to Aswan. Contiki has 1 at the start and in the evening its an all night train to Aswan. Its a very exhausing start to a tour. My past experiences were with Intrepidadventures and with Kumuka. All the best with your decisions. |
