The main problem with travelling to Egypt is the heat, dust and also coping with the food.

Have a read of this website in order to minimise food poisoning:

http://www.shira.net/travelhealth4-gitract.htm

I would recommend going through an immunity building program prior to travelling there.

Usually around 90% of people who go there tend to get sick from the food and water. But if you're careful you will be in the 10% untouched and will be the envy of fellow travellers who are on the constant lookout for the toilet.

A trip to a local Egyptian toilet is an adventure in itself- So be prepared ideally with smearing some Vicks on your nose prior to entering.

Also once in the country a probiotic supplement like travelan will also help. You can buy it here in W.A at the pharmacies and also online at:

www.travelan.com

And also

www.touregypt.net

For furthur info.
Hope this helps.

Sarah, I just finished my travelogue if you want to take a look - http://www.giraffegirl.net/egyptandthenile.htm

A couple people did get a little sick while there, but nothing that kept anyone from doing anything they really wanted to do. Some could knew exactly what they ate or drank that made them sick.

If you stick with the included meals and the recommended restaurants (they will take you places for meals when they are not included) and stick with bottled water you shouldn't have much if any trouble there.

I was feeling a little off one day, I took some drugs and didn't have any problems, though still felt a bit off.

I'm thinking about planning another trip, I'm trying to figure out money for another trip.
